I haven't had any problems with CPU bigs jacking up threes.

I don't think human vs CPU games exist in Online Association mode, so I won't believe that happened until I see video evidence of something like that happening on Sim sliders with the difficulty no lower than All-Star.

    Finally bought BF3.

      Re: Dimming down 3 PTS

Good news, I beat the Celtics 44-39.

      3PT Box Score:
      Paul Pierce: 2-5
Ray Allen 1-2 (SHUT HIM DOWN, he got 8 points but from 2 lay ups, 3-8 FG)
      Delonte West 1-1
Rajon Rondo 0-1 (buzzer beater at end of game)

      Me:
      D-Will 0-1
      Jordan Farmar 1-2
      Travis Outlaw 1-1
      Sasha Vujacic 1-1

they played good *** Defense, i didnt get any good looks for splashing 3s. however some shots were BS that i did. Jordan Farmar splashed a 3 with Rondo in his face. Damion James (mid range) hit a wack *** fader. 77 Medium Shot, I don't think so lol but it was a good game.

Step your Defense up and stop complaining, I am about to go to Superstar if I am beating the Celtics with the Nets on All Star.

        Re: Dimming down 3 PTS

I followed the advice of people on here a couple days ago i set it to sim I have seen a decrease in threes made but it also has to do with the fact I am playing better defense, changed coaching style, keep a watch on my matchups, not trying to fly down the coach and stop trying to play one-on-one. With me I have noticed if you start getting frustrated the cpu will start kill you with the 3 point shots. As far as online go I dont waste my time on it because I like having working controllers lol.

I wont lie, I began to doubt KnightTime because I just didn't see it possible to contest threes. I used my head, and thought about it. 'How does the CPU contest against 3s?' Well, they are all up in my face waving their hands.

To play defense, what I do is, as soon as they pass that ball, I am pressing the X button and immediately taking control of the On Ball player. I will put him as close as possible, staying up in his grill and swap back and fourth to another defender nearby who isnt by a threatening playmaker for help. And as he tries to dribble away and what not, make him change his trajectory - force him to pass out. But keep your eyes around the court, don't focus on that one dribbler. Watch the plays unfold. Peripheral vision cannot help you here, because you can only see so much. I recommend using the 'Drive' camera angle. It's half 2K, half Broadcast and will give you a broader view of the court and you will be able to see the line of the sight of a dribbler - see what he sees, open lanes, etc. I modified the focus settings: Zoom 1, Height 5, Key Zoom Off, Rev Angle Off, Auto Flip On. I am telling you, this camera angle is like Third Person. You are directly behind the dribbler, its like you are in the driver seat. It is a big help for me, maybe it can help you guys on here.

That camera angle sounds cool I might have to check it out.I know keep my eyes on the court of all time especially when I am guarding the pg . You can't stop everything but you stop enough to give yourself a chance to win. I really feel like a coach when I play now lol but back on the subject at hand.
I also have notice by turning up my zone defense, help defense, and keeping watch on matchups has cut down on cpu shooting 3 pointers

                Re: Dimming down 3 PTS

I'm finding that leaving all other sliders at 50 and maxing out the on-ball defense slider does a good job at leveling out the field goal percentages on their own. The problem with sliders is that we tend to tinker with them so much, we've essentially changed the foundation of whatever programming existed under the hood from the start. In my observation, the ridiculous field goal percentages, particularly from 3-point range, has to do with the lack of contested shots for the offense. Basically, the defense is not doing a good job at closing out on shooters, CPU or Human. The game is registering those shot attempts as basically wide open shots. The proximity of the defender doesn't seem to be registered unless the defender is actively trying to defend/block the shot.

By raising the on-ball defense slider, you're basically elevating the intensity of the defense so that they are more adept to getting a hand up on shots, thus affecting field goal percentages across the board.

So, my suggestion is to play a half or two with nothing but that one slider adjustment (on-ball defense) and leave everything else at 50. Keep in mind that this doesn't make the Human defense automatic; you still have to do your part, but at least the players are more responsive defensively, both Human and CPU.
According to my old marketing professor, satisfaction is when product performance meets or exceeds consumer expectation.
