I don't know why everyone goes on only about the 3pts since the mid range has the exact same problem. So then 2k fixes the threes and there will be new threads poping about overpowered mid ... I wish they fix both at the same time. Put the sliders to 46 or so.

Thanks for listening to us. Yes definately it does needs to be toned down. I mean if people are happy with the way the threes are falling now they should keep it that way. But if I remember correctly the sliders in simulation mode for 2k11 were at 45 for 3pts. In 2k12 it remains at 50 just like in normal mode. It doesn't bother me much when I play association mode, but in My Player it really bothers me because my AI teammates can't defend (upon other things they can't do, like boxing out) the perimiter and it leads to an unrealistic 3pt percentage overall. I mean if they're uncontested its OK when a good shooter hits them regularily. But almost every PG or SG seems to be able to drain them more than half of the time they put them up. Thats just unrealistic and needs to be adressed.

And while I'm at it: Please give my teammates some brains on defense. Most shots are uncontested because the AI doesn't put a hand up. Have I mentioned boxing out already? I have - but the 3pt shot is just one out of many problems in this game so far. Your 2K12 forum gives a nice overview of the problems this game has.

this is crazy...I've seen the most non realistic 3pt shots in this game and its only been out a week

yeah i know. Ray Allen put up 72 and he didnt even play the whole game...lol. you had to be there...it was like NBA Jam when they get on fire or something.

the Curry/Ellis game was worse. it got a network error in the third or i'd have those picks too.

Percentages do seem a little bit high, I can't point my finger if too many players are classed as "3PT marksman" or the slider needs to be lowered.

I would say 3% is okay but the rubber band effect kills it. For example if you are winning a game all of the sudden your shots start falling short and layups hit iron only. But, some magical reason everyone on the CPU team turns into Larry Bird in his prime hitting nothing but net on 3's. I would say if the rubber band effect was toned down then the 3's would be balanced and everyone would be happy.

Percentages are fine offline, just turn down contested shot success, what also needs to be adjusted are the amount of 3 point shooters in general in the game, when you can hit a 3 with Big Baby something might be off.

It should be toned down in online and myplayer because we can't adjust them our selves with sliders. Offline should be fine since we have sliders to play with.

The defense collapses much better on the mid-range game. While you're right, it isn't as noticeable.

Just adjust the 3PT Success slider to 45, the way NBA 2K11 had it.

I wasn't expecting shots that involved a ballhandler with no forward or lateral momentum to be consider SODs.

Actually, defenders CAN contest shots without throwing a hand up. Running into the body of a shooter seems to be a mildly effective contest. (Credit to Hotobu)

Glad to see that this worked for you. It's a little trick I've been using in My Player to help on closeouts. I get (as you said) a mild contest, and sometimes it's the only thing you can do on a closeout because jumping/throwing up hands just wont work in time.

As for the thread what is the current NBA team average for 3pt shots?

Also what everyone is saying about 3pt ratings being too high is true. If you sim a season and look at percentages you'll see some ridiculous ones.

Here are a few from mine (80 games in):

Carmelo Anthony 49%! (League leader..)
Ray Allen 48%
Richard Jefferson 47%
Grant Hill 46.5%
Danny Granger 44.5%
Rudy Gay 41.7%
Lebron 40.4%

There were plenty of other big names in between here, but I just picked these for whatever reason. Maybe tendencies weigh in a bit here, but there's just no way that any of these guys should be bombing like this (yes even Ray Allen). Practically everyone needs a dramatic 3% drop, but of course adjusting the slider is much easier. Adjusting the sliders will normalize live games, but if even the computer thinks that these %s are ok then something's wrong.

Im strictly online and YES the 3ptr needs to be toned down about 2 notches. Everybody knows this is an exploit and online they are ABUSING it. So in my honest opinion yes they need to be toned down seriously...even though im going to miss Artest finally knocking down shots.

Yup I agree on that. But online when you have someone that goes left and right till open or makes unlikely shots with non shooters from mid it becomes noticable.

And yeh to answer the OP, I played both online and offline. Offline I set the sliders to 47 for both mid range and 3pt because I was over 60% all the time. Now I think it's better but I will maybe drop it to 46.

While online ... I decided I won't play any games before the mid range or 3pt is patched. In one game (I was GSW) I was leading by 20 points in second quarter going 8 of 9 on 3pts without even forcing the shot. I also had oponents that only ran left and right with D Rose or another mid range shooter till he had minimum space and then sinked it in every time. Unplayable really. Even if you contest all the 3pts still to many will go in.

Also the feedback is not that mixed, there are countless of threads that complain against the 3 point shot and very few posters say the contrary.

So please mid and 3pt to 47 or less. The game will be spot on then. The online games that were without lag were a thing of pure beauty, the mid and 3pt were the only thing that marred them.

Put the 3pt slider to 45-46.. For online everything.

Also up the rank Difficutly. I know for a fact rank games must b at pro default.. Up the difficulty to at least superstar sim level with the 3pt slider down.

Also lower the steal stuff.. And show jumpshot feedback online.. We need all of this asap it shouldnt take until november to patch this quick for online users. Just turn the server off for a day n give us a quick online patch.. Offline gamers can lower the slider to watever they want to so of course it wont be a problem for offline gamers..

Just add sliders to My Player or at least lower the 3pt and midrange ratings on simulation.

And pls pls fix the delayed and slow passing.
