players taller than 6ft8 lose layup package???

Only magic can do good layups at 6'9? i mean you can assign a a 6'9 SF with all-star guard package, but the layups they do are horrible. Once you set the height back to 6'8 he can do a lot of acrobatic layups and hop layups. Anyone else notice this?

It is pretty rare for a 6ft. 9 player or taller to be doing acrobatic moves at the rim, and I suppose if they didn't do this we'd have a bunch of 7 footers doing reverse circus layups and what not. Maybe that's the reasoning behind it...

last year there were dunks you couldn't do if you were over 6'8". i guess this is them expanding the idea to lay-ups

I'm talking about basic layups. like rookie guard package that magic has. when your 6'9 they give you rookie bigman layups no matter what package you pick.

I dont want to see long lanky people who dont have the ability pulling off layups like LeBron & Magic who are 2 athletes you only see 1 per 30 years. Its too rare I cant even think of anybody other than them too who could do freaky flashy layups IRL IMO

By the way, can a SG get Blake Griffins dunk package? If it helps, my player is 6'7.

I've been wondering about this since 2k10 lol. Glad someone else feels the same way I do.

Something else that is vastly different with players that are taller than 6'9 is the ball handling. Not the iso moves because that depends on the sigs you assign. I'm talking about dribbling the ball up the floor.

Players over 6'9 do this weird hunched over dribble that just looks awkward. I can understand big men that can't dribble dribbling this way but for big men that bring the ball up the floor like KD, Hedo Turkoglu, Lamar Odom, Blake Griffin, etc. It seems very inaccurate.

I think there should be some kind of way to decide wether a player moves like a traditional big man or a tall guard. Maybe it can be added in signature style one day but I at least hope they make the tall NBA players that play like guards move more like guards.

Are you saying that Magic is more athletic than Durant??? and i'm not talking about doing MJ switch hand layups or hang in the air through contact like D-Rose. i'm talking basic one foot gather layups out of the rookie guard package. Amare And Blake griffin can jump out the gym, yet if you trigger their layups they look like Kwame brown. It just takes away from the game when using these players. Its not real or sim to dunk on every drive, but let the athletic big men show some ATHLETICISM on their Layups also.

                        Peace.

So the big men layups for the athletic ones need to be quicker and lighter instead of the heavy slow man kwame brown layups. How would you feel if Amare & High Griffinition used max vertical on all their layups and have their hands at the top of the square on the backboard?

First off it will look ugly when the ball shoots out and drops at a downward angle toward the backboard. Second that is isn't cheese if they did that how would you stop them without a foul?
Third I dont think ive ever seen a big man use max hops and do a layup if they get up their they'll slam it if not they will lay it up. & I truly think magic could of done more acrobatic things in the air than Durant has showed so far in his NBA career thus far. I know KD35 has been blowing up all summer/fall doing crazy things. . Rudy gay is nowhere (take with grain of salt) near as graceful as LBJ in air en-route to the rim. Close but its a whole other level with LBJ
