The BEST And EASIEST Way To Fix The Trade Logic

This is a easy and quick fix that should be patchable for Association and My Player.

These are OUR careers and WE should be able to somehow stop the dumb trade logic, so since its OUR careers, why cant yall just let the USER (us) be able to reverse or deny trades done by our team or teams around the league. I know that would give the user too much controlo, but if you want a realistic experience, you would allow the realistic trades and deny the dumb ones. Me personally, I would just simply deny all the dumb trades that my team or other teams are trying to make. I think that every trade done during the season (Association or My Player) should be shown to the user and asked if you choose to allow or deny that trade. So for the sim players who want a realistic experience, we would let the real/good trades go through and cancel the dumb ones.

Why not, if dudes want to get mad at another team making a trade to get better then let them do it, remember, this is OUR experience, and the CPU messes that up with dumb trades. The trade logic has been bad for years, so if you cant fix it and get it right, then give us the ability to control it ourselves, feel me.

If you mean My Player, I disagree. Part of roleplaying is not being in control. If you don't like the trades your team makes, then try to get on another team. I'm sure lots of players don't like management making bad trade decisions while they're with the team...

Having said that, I always want more options instead of less. 2K is giving us fewer and fewer options, so if they can't get the trade logic right, then OK, you could do that, but I would bury it in the menus somewhere.

So if you are a sim player you will do things correctly right???

Bad trades are cool, it happens in real life, so me as a user I would let the bad trades ride, but the dumb ones, come on, it messes up both modes. Matt Millen would not be dumb enough to have 5 good point guards on a roster, but 2k will do that, and we should be able to reverse it if they cant get it right.

Teams don't trade SuperStars back and fourth just for fun. The Bulls would never trade Derrick Rose so why it's he getting traded for Stephen Curry or Chris Paul (I know these aren't bad players but the point still stands).

If 2K can't fix the trade logic they need to give us the option to Veto trades straight up.

It's not a fix but what I do is turn off CPU trading until the month of the All-Star game. Then I turn it on and let the CPU make their usually horrendous trades. Then back off after the trade deadline has passed.

            Rinse, repeat.

Upgrading the CPU logic, so they wont make funky trades and rebuild a team has to be tied into the coaches. That is the only way I see it.

I don't much about coding and all that but this is how it should be done: The CPU controlled teams should have pre-programmed priorities to rebuilding a team. And to change these pre-determined priorities, have them tie into each coach so say the Nets fire Avery Johnson, their focus changes a different direction.

CPU needs to have recognition of the player's they have in a sense. If they draft a Shooting Guard in the 1st Round, rated 78 overall but then there happens to be Ray Allen 80 overall sitting in free agency, the CPU wont pursue him at all. Same goes for trades. Unless its a trade offer for an All Star Shooting Guard, then thats when the CPU should be open to accept but in the trade, it has to be that rookie SG because hes 78 overall and shouldn't be riding the bench.

We have to see a lot of players being overpaid too, because that happens and the CPU and CPU trading has to have knowledge that Travis Outlaw 66 overall isn't very good and is being paid too much so no go, the Nets have to ride with him till it expires or give him to another team as an expiring.

I don't know much about this stuff, just trying to help lol

EDIT: When I say tied into coaching, I meant to say when going after certain players, the coaches look for certain attributes like "On Ball Defense", "Medium Shot", whatever fits their profile.

Just suggestion: What you could do is give no trade clauses to superstars and young players that teams aren't trading "Steph Curry, Evan Turner, DeMarcus Cousins, etc.)

I know players wouldn't have a NTC that early in their careers, but it keeps the My Player trades believable. I have no clue what happens in later years when new contracts are granted tho.

Bad argument. In real life, you can't do things like turn off injuries or play games with 5 minute quarters, but you can do this in the game.
