What does "leak out" mean in play styles?

If you press left on the D-pad in game, among "spread the floor", and "come off screens" as offensive play styles, "leak out" is an option. What does this mean?

On defense, players on the perimeter begin "leaking out" down court for fast break opportunities when the opposing team shoots and you get rebounds. This should leaves you weak in defensive rebounding, but gives you a ton of fast break points if you can push the ball up court.

and you see it actually happen too not just hyperbole talk

in all honesty if you have a strong rebounding team or an athletic team.. I'd totally favor a Leak Out strategy, you'll see a lot of touchdown throws because of that perimeter defender "leaking out"
