When you're young and less mature, you assume the majority is correct.
As you mature and develop opinions, you realize the majority holds a number of incorrect, commonly shared beliefs. Some of these beliefs are actually important.
As you further mature, you realize you might be one of these incorrect people. You realize that a select few people know anything about anything at all-- and at the same time, apparent experts often don't know as much as they let on.
But in this case, expert analysis can accurately highlight 2k's flaws (and achievements). Basketball is a well studied sport and ignorance is not bliss. There are glaring systemic issues that make the game less balanced and more frustrating in many situations than the final version of last year's game-- while it also makes a number of advances that are a joy to play with. We just want to see these issues dealt with to bring the game back in line with what it could be.
