Not the same. Most fans have only known Lin for 5 games.

U have to look at the this topic from both sides. Reading the last few pages this is what I see.

Tim tebow? Lin has won AND performed above level.
Tom Brady? Definetly too early but not impossible

As someone that has known about Jeremy Lin since he was in college he has been good. You also shouldn't focus all on his rookie stats or further early this seasons.

You can say he thrives in mike dantonis system but Plenty of players also have been performing much less in his system and the same goes for the whole nba.

So it still is too early to pin anything. Just sit back and watch cause it's not our life. It has only been five games but every game he has shown something that shows he can be a star.

That's what I've been trying to get at but people here insist on being as pessimistic and as skeptical as possible. Very few players in all of sports can say they played at the level he has in their first 5 professional starts. But we don't know if when we look back on his career these 5 games are just the great games a lot of players have throughout their careers, if these will be considered his average games, or maybe even he becomes so good that these are his low-end games. The point is we just don't know so trying to shut him down at this point is stupid.

I'll tell you this folks, im a hardcore knick fan since the days of bernard king...and i have never seen anyone come out of nowhere and carry this team like he has. i know he will not average 25 points a night but his passing ability is exactly what we were missing. when stat and melo come back his ppg obviously will go down but i expect his assists numbers to stay the same or even increase. i hope 2k shows dude some decent love next update.

"Pessimists" trying to shut him down is just as "stupid" as others comparing him to legends. Its the other side of the same coin. I find most the "pessimists" in this thread are just saying. Look at the sample size. Hell, its barely a sample size to even look at. If someone wants to be optimist that Lin will continue or every improve on his recent play, great but lets not pretend that point of view is superior to a pessimists viewpoint.

This guy could well be a Steve Nash, Tiny Archibald type of player but lets see how the next month goes; The rest of the season goes, etc before annotating him something more than a possible star. Sports history is loaded with guys who had a good week, month, and even a season and fall back into the woodwork. Sport history also has guys who came out of nowhere and became stars. Can we at least wait and see for awhile before stating this guy is either?

Agree there are also a lot of people that won't give him time and say he's no good

                        Re: Jeremy Lin

The guy who said he's the best since Magic or something, just LOL is all I can say.

But I've gotta say, I haven't been this excited since Vince Carter.

And to the guys who say they are Knick fans but say "watch the whole game, not just highlights"...I've been watching the whole game and the boy is GOOD. He is involved in every play. He's either assisting, scoring, or giving good passes that his teammates are missing from or mishandling. If you're trying to say he's overrated by the highlight reels, then maybe you guys need to watch your own teams game all the way through because he really isn't.

Not everyone who likes him is a bandwagon fan. I am a Pacers fan and HATE the Knicks. However, I like Lin because he never gave up even when kicked to the curb 3 times in a season. It's a good story.

I hate Knicks too but Like Lin only beause of this, he is so humble and dont let the sudden fame get to his head and rather share the spot light then it be all on him. Plus those oops to Chandler reminds me of the Chandler-Paul combo from a few years ago lol

As a Celtics fan, I actually caught myself rooting for the Knicks against the TWolves just for Lin. The kid is for real, and all of you haters might as well accept it.
