Kyrie Irving: OA- 84 OVR- 79
    Ricky Rubio: OA-87 OVR- 76
Jeremy Lin: OA- 85 OVR- 76

    Landry Fields: 86
    Iman Shumpert: 79
    Jeremy Lin: Hustle 90

(Hustle attributes had not been updated since the original opening day update though, besides Lin. Posting these made it obvious I need to re-examine some of those ratings)

I know the OS's may seem high, but personally I have found better gameplay/graphics with awarenesses scaled a little higher. Maybe its a placebo affect, but like I said before, as long as everyone is scaled a certain way it evens out.
It's all good. You're right about the scale. That's why I asked about other players.

Just because it hasn't happened in the last 5 years, doesn't mean it's impossible for someone to shoot 80% from 'at the rim' range.

23 players are currently shooting over 75% at the rim and 14 of those players are 80% or higher. Granted it's a fairly small sample size and some of the players have few games played (for example J.R. Smith is shooting 85.7% but only has 4 games played), but I still don't feel like the possibility of someone shooting 80% at the rim should be excluded.

I'm guessing your 'no one in last 5 years' is based off a certain number of games played, because 23 players shot 80% or higher 'at the rim' last season(hoopdata stats). Most of those players had fewer than 20 games played(a lot in single digits), but Pietrus hit 84.6% in 38 games(close to half a normal regular season) and Durant shot 77.2% in 78 games played. That's my reasoning behind 80 behind the top end. Of course if they had a correct scale the masses would throw a fit since no-one would be a 99.
True, but only one guy is averaging over two shots per game at the rim and shooting close to 80%, Tyson Chandler and Andrew Bogut, both of who are around 65-68% from that range over the last several years. If the scale was going to be absolute, these guys:

      Rudy Fernandez
      Raja Bell
      Darius Morris
      Bill Walker
      Sasha Pavlovic

would have higher Inside Shot ratings than:

      Lebron James
      Kevin Durant
      Dwight Howard
      Amare Stoudemire

This is why I tend to use 3 year averages for players to determine ratings or I may take the most attempts in the last 3 seasons from that location (or other stat for a different rating) if a player doesn't play much but has in recent seasons, in order to keep things in-line with real life stats and be realistic at the same time.

I'm sure you have your method that also works. To have the knowledge of how the sim-engine works and to have done some research shows something that most posters just don't have. OS is blessed right now to have several members who have the knowledge and dedication to fix the rosters that 2k puts out. I think this is one of the best games I've played, but it took 100's of hours of editing to get it to this point (and I don't have the patch yet on PC). 2k REALLY dropped the ball on the ratings/tendencies this year.
