Its all about calling time out dont let them get going i never have this problem of the cpu always coming back you know why ? I use all my time out every time i see melo missing wide open mid range then fields missing another wide open thats when i call a time out. If they make 3 back to back to back bucket while am missing open shots thats when you need timeout . I been in game entering the 4th quater where i only had 2 time outs left

So does the "Clutch" rating and turning it on and off actually affect PLAYER specific clutch like the description says, or does it affect magic team-wide clutch? Does it *seem* to affect team clutch, because it increases specific players' clutch (and all clutch players' performance across the board on the team), and anytime a player scores a few times it increases team momentum-- or does it just apply generic team boosts anytime the CPU is down?

Has anyone confirmed that turning clutch off actually turns player specific clutch off in testing? I know it might be difficult to test, but I'd like to know. I'm really tired of what appears to be team boosts, that seem extremely magnified in All-Star and above, especially in the 3rd quarter, but I'd like specific players to have a clutchness that resembles reality.

I also think 2K needs to turn momentum effects way the heck down. It's been like this for years, and the game really punishes you for any series of mistakes on offense or defense, which makes you more likely to miss shots, which are then punished further. This is even worse this year on All-Star or above because the momentum effects are magnified so severely. The only way to counter momentum is to slow the game down, call timeouts, plays, and scrounge for an easy shot, and while this is smart basketball, having to game the momentum so artificially isn't really sim basketball. Ray Allen has said the only thing you can do to get out of a shooting slump is to shoot your way out of it, but this is about the worst possible thing you can do in 2K. You just cannot do what one of the best shooters in basketball says you must do. There needs to be some balance between deferring to others and looking for a better shot when you're cold, and trying to make shots to break a streak even when the momentum is against you.

I'm theorizing that the scripted runs are just the CPU getting a free momentum boost and you getting a momentum penalty sometime in the 3rd or 4th quarter. You can really see the CPU become almost hyperactive right out of the half, and with the momentum boost from higher difficulties, All-Star and above just play like CPU cheese.

I'm ashamed to say this but I played for about 12 hours as the Warriors against the Spurs on All-Star, and could not win a single game. I was testing some sliders, which affected the results, but it became very predictable when the run would occur. Yes, I'm not that good, and I was getting very tired and frustrated which magnified mistakes, but something is seriously wrong when I can keep pace or get a lead consistently at the half, but would *always* slide in the 3rd and/or 4th. I once had a 10+ point lead going into the fourth, which resulted in a 17-4 scoring fest by the CPU. Ridiculous. The defense magically tighten up after the half and trying to work for my midrange shots with Curry and Ellis just seemed that much harder. Maybe the CPU D made adjustments, but it also seemed that Manu got a lot slidier in keeping up with me on defense.

Also, I think the way 2K implemented momentum is much too heavyhanded as it affects *everything* across the board drastically. Sure, I can understand momentum affecting players in energy and causing them to make lapses and slow down a bit. But it's so heavyhanded how the *entire* team, including stars, become mentally handicapped in regards to how basketball is played and perform like rookies in making the most basic of shots. Even layups can become adventures. I had Steph Curry beat the defense only to brick an open layup-- a shot I worked for and needed him to deliver on to break us out of the funk. Rather than being rewarded for playing well and using his star power to revitalize the team, I'm being further punished. Has anyone regularly seen stars in the NBA miss wide open layups just because their team is slumping and down by 10? Aggravating. After a long, wasted night with the game, I'm absolutely convinced on All-Star and above, 2K12 does not play anywhere as well as 2K11 patched, and probably even unpatched.

It's too bad I can't even fully enjoy some of 2K's best work work this year, as the Warriors are a terrible post team. At least the commentary is still amazing. I laughed at Steve Kerr's Monta Ellis tattoo jokes every time he told them.
