I have seen a ton of people complain about the game being hard. I am happy it FINALLY is challenging. There are a few Bugs I agree but with the Right Sliders and Right Roster(NOT the 2k Default) this game can be very enjoyable.

in my player rosters help i don't too much know about the sliders, people still hit 3s non stop.

the game is not hard my whole thing is why can't my team play like an actual team, im fine with just having 15 points if my team is on point and playing like the cpu

Not sure what do do about My Player. I mainly play off-line Association.

The game is hot garbage this year, point blank, I love the animations, presentation, and graphics, but the pick and roll doesn't even work, hell I can't even call a 1-3-1 defense on greatest mode, it's not fun, 2K is tweaking too much. Missing a ton of blayups it terrible as well. This is the first time in 20 years or so I have not had a new basketball game to enjoy, this is one of the only reasons I still play Video games. And sliders don't make it fun, it just makes it seems like I'm manipulating the game that doesn't make fun.

put 2k12 in for the first time in a few weeks and wow.. it's unplayable until a patch comes out. btw.. how long does it take for a patch? cmon 2k. good god.

anyways.. sim sliders WOULD work good if 2k let us make layups and didn't have big men blocking everything in the paint.

2k12 = where shooting 3's every play is the way to win. gotta love it.

I score in the paint Alot. As far as layups go that has to do with 2K Default Ratings. The roster project I worked on seems to have made the game enjoyable for alot of people who downloaded them. Maybe you should try a Custom roster and see if that makes gameplay any better for you.

regarding the wimpy layups, most of the players have rookie packages. Thiscan be corrected by giving players pro or all star but hopefully 2k assigns the right packages from the get go, instead of roster makers doing mass edits ( even though I know they WILL have to).

For the past 2 years NBA 2k series has just been not fun anymore. If I play on pro its way too easy and its not challenging. Ill bump it up to allstar or superstar and the cpu just goes ape**** all over me. There is really no difference between the allstar and superstar settings. The CPU drains every open shot. Ill be winning, and the CPU ALWAYS like 100% of the time, goes on these CRAZY runs where they make everything and just play shut down d. The sliders i've seen dont work too well either. If anybody knows good sliders that will give me the most realistic play, without this cheap CPU BS, I would appreciate it, Im regretting buying this game because every time I play it I just end up getting frustrated and turning it off mid-game... Fix the cheap *** CPU play 2k PLEASE.....

I like that it is harder to score on layups this year. If anything, they should make it a little harder by making the up-and-unders more defendable. I feel, aside from the cheesoid up-and-unders and occasionally getting blocked from behind by Andre Miller during a cocked-back slam on the fastbreak, that the layups and dunks are very appropriate.

What I think they should do is make default much easier to score inside. Sim and default are very close this year; too close. Basically they should try to make default as much like 2k11 as they can. I like sim and think the inside scoring is fine for that, but I play with guys who like the run and gun of past 2ks who hate 2k12 because inside scoring is weaker and jump shooting is stronger. They basically swore off 2k because of this(and the passing) and want to see EA's game next year.

I'm fine with the inside scoring, but I'm getting the impression that 2k12 is alienating people who like the feel of past year's games. I think sim and default should have more distinction between them. That way everyone can be happy to play their own way.

The "hard" moniker does not coincide with the "sim" moniker.

Read the forum and search back a bit more. It has been detailed quite a few times, including by myself, why the game is not as enjoyable as it was last year.

Most of us are just waiting for the patch with fingers crossed.

Agreed. Like someone said on paper - 2K12 looks like it should be the greatest basketball gamer ever, but this years the game is not enjoyable as it has been in the past. Its actually not hard to play, its frustrating to play and alot of things gameplay wise don't make since. The lack of fastbreak seperation, lack of sepration from beating someone off the dribble, lack of A.I. spacing on offense, lack of pick and roll, the slow passing, its just a real odd game this year. Im praying that the patch saves this game, heck if the devs can get the game to play just alittle better than 2K11 post patch the game will be a hit.

2k12 CPU def puts up a fight.

i was using the what, 1990 warriors, against the toranto raptors.

Right out of the gate, i came out on fire, was up 14-0. Raptors slowed our momentum down and scored 14 unanswered on us

i think clutch factor needs to be turned off, that's the reason why the cpu always come back, anyone else agree?

Not to discredit what you're saying here, but honestly while the Raptors suck (I know this very well being a Raps fan), scoring and going on runs hasn't really been an issue for them for some time now. They score pretty well. They just have terrible defense and when they do score at times it can just be a mess as opposed to good execution. Maybe you were cold and they were hot?

As I said, I am not saying your opinion on what happened is wrong, but you point out the Raps as a sticking point for your story. I don't mind stuff like that. I'd prefer to see some more games where the runs aren't so dramatic for sure, but basketball is a game of runs and streaks.

Maybe it was how they scored and prevented you from scoring that was bothersome more so than the actual scoring/not scoring?

i play on pro default and i hardly win games- although i try play though on ball d and run plays on offence
i tried playing few games on allstar but it was too hard for me so i went down back to pro
but i love the challenge of the game

To me, saying that the game is hard isn't accurate. A hard basketball game, to me, means that the cpu moves the ball very well, plays tough D, takes advantage of mismatches...etc...and takes advantage of the star players ---> which is what "hard" should mean in 2011.

To me, this is not the case here. While the CPU does have what it takes to make it a "hard" game (see above), it just kills it with impossible passes that are not stolen, amazing steals that shouldn't happen every time, and of course making shots that aren't meant to be made.

Sure, you can use sliders to fix some of it, but the basic "mentality" of the CPU just destroys what 2K has accomplished through the years.

I'm definitely not saying that this game is worse than the past few years' games, but I am saying that it seems like instead of becoming smart - like 2011 smart, it has gone to 2003 smart. Meaning: The CPU can do what you can't do. Reminds me of older basketball video games, where the CPU would kill you without even playing good basketball. In 2K12, the CPU does play good basketball, so it's just too bad that in addition it uses some 2003 cheesing.

I remember developers talking about it about 5 years ago, saying something like that the CPU doesn't win anymore by cheating, but by actually playing smart basketball offensively and defensively. That's the path the sports video games (at least some of them) have chosen the past few years, and to me 2K12, for some reason, goes off the track. It's weird that that game that is so great finds a way to mess things up.

I agree! 2k12 is a very frustrating game because the CPU resorts to cheating in order to win. It obvious when the CPU disables your players so that it can win. Tomorrow I'm goin back to 2k11...
