If you can, try to not do that. I do not utilize those as well.

See if you can get through a game without using that.

Like I mentioned via IM, those settings may be part of the problem once changed.

So basically... you cannot change anything to do with defense settings. Okay, I will make sure that both users do not do any adjustment other than coach settings and camera changes.

I would ask that anyone reading this thread chime in and state what they've done EXACTLY if they have a drop. Keep in mind what I posted in the first post of this thread.

The more info. anyone can provide as to what they are doing EXACTLY when they drop would be 100% helpful.

If you know of what the other person is doing as well, that would be ideal. These drops happen if EITHER person does a certain thing - the question to find out is "what" is that certain thing.

Would be a lot more productive than the constant bitching about speed, defense or any other things being discussed ad nauseum here.

Just tried to play a game with a friend who had the Knicks and it dropped every time.

Game dropped mid way through the 2nd quarter during the middle of a play.

No defensive settings were adjusted, only camera and coach settings.

This time we got a straight disconnect with no timeout box, I was sent back to my Locker Room, while my opponent was sent offline (xbox restarted for some reason is what he said), this situation has not happened before, usually we are both sent back to the LR.

If his Xbox restarted that's not a drop.

I'll see what's up with the Knicks - I read someone else on here had a problem with the new update but that seems to be a different issue altogether that was not there before the roster update. I use the Knicks quite often.

Ran the same game back with the same guy that had the xbox restart... this time we get all the way to the mid 4th when we get the "no players remaining" message.

Again just to reiterate, only changes are Camera and Coach Settings.

Yeah, he doesn't know what happened... he said the xbox did not freeze, literally just rebooted and logged back in and went straight to the game, main menu.

Just to keep it consistent:

Two games with Pared, dropped. First was due to the Knicks issue.

No changes done, only thing I changed was Camera using OTF controls.

Just tried to play a random online quick match and I received the server network drop error message. I've never gotten this before the new roster update. Before tip-off I always change the following:

- Camera angle: I switch to 2k cam
- Defensive Settings: I specify how I want to guard players (tight, moderate, sag, etc...)
- Coach Profiles: I adjust help defense and crash boards

Those are the only settings I adjust before tip-off and when I made these changes the game dropped as soon as I resume play. We didn't even get to tip the ball off.

Was it the Knicks? If they are one of the teams it drops immediately. There seems to be something that's causing that - maybe the playbooks associated with one of their new players? (Chandler, Bibby)

There's something going on with that drop Chia. It always happens in the 2nd quarter. Every game I try to play with you afterwards did the same thing.

Nope, that game I was describing I had the celtics and the other guy had the lakers.

However....

Pared, It seems like your suggestion of logging out and logging back in may have work. After that game dropped I went to the Xbox dashboard and signed out of Xbox live. Then I loaded 2k12 back up and was able to successfully complete an entire random quick match game. I was able to do my pre-game adjustments and my opponent did as well. No dropped game this time! Don't know of it will work for all but so far it seems to have worked for me. Will keep yall posted if things change.

Glad that worked! If you ever get any drops in the 2nd quarter where it says, "A Network Error occured" please post back here if it is unrelated to the playbooks issue. Tough to tell if you play randoms since you have no idea what they've done before they play you but if you play with friends at least you can ask if they changed anything.

LOL... infected... maybe. Well for what its worth, the games with you are the first time its dropped like that, usually the countdown box counts all the way down then it drops with the 'no players remaining' message. I don't recall ever getting the straight drop back to the LR though.
