    D-PAD Explain

When u are on offense and u dont want to play according to your playbooks or a free game there is another way as well with d-pad which i really dont understand. By pressing the d-pad(xbox 360) there is another option on offense strategy
    A-space on the floor-ok

    B-Screens for shooters-ok

C-Leak out (What is that exactly ?????)

    D-Collapse and Rebound (?????????)

The last 2 option i really dont know what my players are supose to be doing

    Plz explain
    Thx

        Offense
These offensive options are tied to individual tendencies and behavior and affect the directives of each player on the team to achieve the approach dictated by the User.
        • Space the Floor – Better spacing from the ballhandler; less running around / no onball screens
        • Screen for Shooters – set up shooters on team to get open using Offball screens
        • Leak Out – Outside player leaks out on shots to get a break going
        • Collapse and Rebound – team attacks the basket for offensive boards
        • Coach Default – resets current active strategy

        Defense
This gives the user a quick access to setting up the Defensive Settings on the fly:
        • Pressure Shooters – for opposing players good at med/long range shots; tight onball, deny ball, go over screens, hedge on screens
        • Lock Down Paint – double down in the post for all players, go under screens
        • Focus on Stars – for opposing star players; always double, tight onball, deny ball
        • Constant Pressure – double team on drive for guards, double team in post for bigs, play tight on stars, go over screens, hard hedge
        • Coach Default - resets current active strategy

Do these settings stay until you change them? Example, if I am playing Orlando and I want to Pressure Shooters would I have to make that change every defensive possesion or does it carry over for the whole game?

the settings last until you change them. the D-pad plays also override any changes you make in the defensive matchup screen(settings are set back to auto). i try to change the d-pad plays based on what players the opposing team has on the floor.

Stays the same the whole game, changes if you change back to default and pick another option

And just to be clear, making those changes is simply a lazy alternative to making individual changes to each player in the defensive assignments screen?

                  basically.

i believe you can also change individual defensive settings in the D-pad quick plays during a time out. meaning if you have pressure shooters applied during gameplay. at the timeout screen it will show the shooters as having tight pressure. you can adjust the pressure and double team options there without your original playcall(ex. pressure shooters) being affected. or i could be wrong.

the only downside i see to using D-pad plays is that settings will be set to auto on the players that should be least impacted by the call. which to me seems to make those players play above their ratings. ex. pressure shooters. the shooters will be covered but that means power forwards and centers will have more space for jumpshots or driving to the hoop. they seem to convert more often than not.

Is this saying when you are on defense to outside player will leak out after a shot for a fast break? Basically this is really a defensive adjustment right?

I was wondering the same thing.

Yes it is saying instead of going in for the defensive boards, your wings will leak out down court towards the offensive end of the basket to start the fastbreak. Think of it as a delayed cherry pick.
