Re: Any word on a roster update?

I've defended 2k before but now they are ridiculous. It's just as KidHypeTellem said, plenty of people work during the holiday's, especially if you are providing a service. And to the guy who said we bought an incomplete game, your obviously forgetting that 2k promised us constant roster and art updates and every rookie after the lockout. They said that any new haircut, tattoo, jersey or player we saw on tv would be put in game and that has not happened, period. So no one bought what was an incomplete game, its just that 2k hasn't been keeping their promise. We all also understand that the longer they wait for things like the art updates, the less likely they are to come, as the art team has to be working on 2k13 at this point. 2k has let me down, and I even went as far as making a thread to give them props, so I agree with all those that feel that they have slacked and fallen short of promises as far as these areas are concern.

I feel like ALL sports gaming companies should take the EA & THQ route and take an extra year on each game. This would (IMO) ensure better quality games because the developers wouldn't have such strict time restraints to work with, allowing them to get in every thing the game needs. That is why I am hoping NBA Elite 13 is the greatest NBA Sim of all time, because if it is, 2k will either a) step there game up for 2k14 or b) adopt the same strategy making for a great game in 2k15. But that's just my take on the whole thing.

In my opinion, they've had about 2 months off during the lockout to do their research/fine-tune their rosters. This, obviously, would've been the smart/efficient thing to do, so when the lockout was lifted and all the players signed, all they would have to do is add them to the roster. Simple.

I'm sure it doesn't take more than a concentrated day to fill in the second-rounders.

How do you know the nba office is sending the ok to add them. Sure it's obvious to see who's signed but there's more to it on their end then "oh he's signed put him in". I'm sure the nba office isn't thinking about 2k after they just posting 1/4th of their season to bs.

If you guys are fed up with 2k do the rosters to your liking yourself as i'm doing.

Download the second rounders off of 2kshare and import them into your roster, and check nba.com and other sports websites for transactions.

I enjoy doing it, and it really doesn't take very long

The only people complaining are the ones who only play online. Is this right?
If not why are people complaining? There have been complete rosters on 2kshare for weeks now. Heck, they even have accessory updates. Is there some weird fetish with having the official 2k roster? I don't see why people are bothered by this other than the ones who play online.

You DO know that when rookies sign, they're a part of the NBPA, right? If they're part of the NBPA, 2K is allowed to put them in the game.

So, your argument about the NBA thinking, or not thinking, of 2K is irrelevant.

I know I can download rosters from 2k share. In fact, I even think they are better. What concerns me is that 2k isnt doing what they promised. I mean ok, take a couple of days off, its their right, but saying absolutely NOTHING about any updates whatsoever just makes me angry. I, myself play half my player half online/teamup and it just makes me angry seeing that most of the teams are on the minimum limit of 12 players.

Which rosters are you talking about do they have second rounders or are they all user made or have black arms? But regardless my main concern is 2K should have the rosters out so they can get around to the whole updating art assets and player faces and hair that they promised.

Re: Any word on a roster update?

2K seems to get more distant with us each year. I remember when they first introduced the Insider. Everybody was excited because now we wouldn't have to wait a month before getting roster updates anymore. But now most people can't stand the Insider lol. The part that really makes me frustrated is the fact they keep telling us that they are gonna gonna constantly update the rosters and the other stuff, but then the days and weeks go by, and we don't hear a peep out of them. I'm okay with the waiting, but at least try to keep your customers in the loop and just tell us the truth. A simple,"Hey, we are gonna have minor delay," would be sufficient. I would have thought after 2K11's success, they would try to implement something for the rosters and ratings like EA did for Live 10, but of course they didn't. And I understand its the holidays and all, but the very least they could have done was update the rotations for most teams. All we can do is hope that after New Years, they step their game up and start coming through on their roster promises.

I see what you are saying, but a simple "Hey guys we are taking a break for the holidays rosters we will be updating the rosters after the New Year..." would have gone a long way.

I think most people are irked because they have no idea what is going on.

I have yet to see a created-player-model who looks anything close to his real-life counterpart off of 2KShare. 2K's ratings might not be accurate, but their player models, for the most part, are spot-on. I'm not going to be playing and go through the season with 39 guys looking nothing like they do in real life, it would bug me quite a bit.

It's simple, really though. Just update the rosters, they said they had it ready to go so I just don't see what the problem is at this point. A lot of the second-round signings became official nearly three weeks ago, and ones that weren't became official a week or more ago. I don't see what's taking so long and what's more frustrating is that 2K won't say a word about it. I just hope it's updated by the end of next week, I would hate to watch a huge chunk of the season go by and not be able to start my Miami Heat association until then.
