    Re: Bedwardsroy19 30-Team Control Association Guide/Discussion

Working a three team deal to get Nash to Portland. How does this look to you guys.

    Blazers get:
    Nash from PHX
    J. Howard from UTA

    Suns get:
    G. Wallace from POR
    D. Harris from UTA

    Jazz get:
    R. Felton from POR
    H. Warrick from PHX

In my assoc. Portland has a shot to make a run as Bynum is out for the season in L.A., Nash gives them a chance at a deep playoff run. Jazz and Suns aren't completely out of the playoff picture but aren't really set up to make an sort of run. The Suns take on an Harris for a year(2 yr deal) but add Wallace who they can let walk to clear cap space. Utah upgrades at PG and gets Warrick as a flexible big who can fill in if Millsap goes down again.

I'll tack one more onto this post instead of making it a separate post.

    Bucks get:
    N. Young
    A. Blatche
    H. N'diaye

    Wizards get:
    S. Jackson
    E. Ilyasova
    D. Hobson
    2013 1st round pick

I don't see anyone volunteering to stick around in Washington so Young will most likely walk after his contract is up. Jackson isn't fitting in Milwaukee, this lets him out of there and gives Washington a future #1 pick.

If you're dead set on dealing Bass though (think his salary is round 4 mil) you could look at Portland. They're kind of thin up front and they've got plenty of depth at guard with Nolan Smith or Elliot Williams being your targets imo. I think Williams has a lot of potential he just won't get to use it in Portland. I edited him myself cause of the potential I see in him. To each his own though.
I do plan on keeping KG next year, even if he does slow down a bit. He is still capable of getting me 15 and 8 night in and night out, so I think I'll keep him one more year...

As far as portland goes, I think thats a good possibility. Didn't think of them at first. I know I could not pick up his option after the season and let him walk, but I figure I might as well get something out of him.

Would it be realistic to trade him to a contender straight up for a mid to late 1st rounder? My thought process then would be to trade those 2 picks plus my 2013 1st in order to grab me a high pick in the 2012 draft and get a good young guy to couple with Rondo and build for the future...

Sorry if this was already answered, just curious when you say 30-team Association are you user controlling more than one team. If so, why would you do this? I'm totally not flaming or trolling just curious about the mindset behind this.

I'm sure there is a team that is doing well in your dynasty that could use power forward help in your dynasty... Maybe a team that would normally be a seller but is over-performing this year?

No it's cool man, good question!

After simming more and more associations I saw how flawed the logic is behind multiple aspects of the CPU decision making. Whether it is trades, FA Logic, Rotation problems, how they progress certain players... The point of this was to help people have the most accurate and life like association as possible with still having their own little "fantasy world" association.

A lot of people say, well couldn't you just turn CPU trades off and control one team? Yes you could, but they still make franchise breaking trades in the draft. For some reason even though trades for CPU are off they will still trade during the draft and it could ruin the experience. I once saw the Cavs trade the Second pick of the draft and Tristan Thompson for Leandrho Barbosa just to give an example.

Another problem mentioned was Free Agency. The places where players sign makes absolutely no sense. Chris Paul almost always would sign with a small market team that has no need for a point guard.

Just trying to give examples. I just know that people are looking for the most realistic experience as possible. Unfortunately (in my opinion) 2K's association mode has so many problems that it makes it necessary to do this for a good experience.

On the first trade I'm not sure that Utah would be on board for that IRL. Now in 2kland I believe you said Milsap had injury issues, which makes Warrick a better fit, but IRL Warrick joins an already crowded front court while being traded for a decent swingman. Plus, and this is just personal opinion, Harris maybe struggling right now but he has looked good in the past and IMO Felton isn't an upgrade. With Felton I think you know whazt you get. With Harris there is still a chance he blossoms like he seemed to be headed towards. But again it's a fairly minbor quibble and I certainly don't think the trade is horrible or anything.

As for the 2nd trade, I think it works if it's a done deal Nick Young won't resign. Washington gets something instead of nothing, plus they move a "problem" guy in Blatche for a serviceable big man and get a pick. If Young is out in Washington then this is a very nice trade IMO.

So i just finished the first year my 30 team chise. I really enjoyed it, once u get things going its easy. My only headaches were in free agency so many people and so many needs. My strategy was to use the fa calculator for thr top 4 people in each available positions. After that it was just going through and filling each teams needs.

So my only thing that mademme mad was duncan he wanted nothing to do with the spurs and i waited him out to see if he changed his mind. Buuuut after waiting it out, the only team to sign him thst could afford him was the suns.

Should i leave him or trade him back? What should i do.

So for those who pay more attention to the real life rumors than I do or are Clippers fans, what are the odds Mo Williams accepts his player option for 8.5m? I'm just trying to get all my player and team options set for the offseason.

In addition to Mo Williams, I've got a few others that I'm curious about opinions on whether they accept the player option

Jameer Nelson-option for 7.8m In my association Howard was moved to the Lakers in a three way trade and the Magic received Bynum, Scola and Kevin Martin.

Jordan Farmar-option for 4.25m. I haven't decided if D-Will accepts his player option or not or if there is any chance he resigns in NJ. I did resign Brook Lopez after Howard went to the Lakers.

Cole Aldrich-Team option 2.45m. Is he such a bust that the Thunder will give up on him already?

Jamaal Crawford-5.0m Seems like he might be able to get more elsewhere and the Blazers are headed towards rebuilding with Camby retiring and Gerald Wallace walking, plus Felton and Batum may or may not resign (Batum is a restricted and I plan to match any offer that isn't crazy)

                      thanks for any feedback.

For future reference, I would have simply edited him to a new contract with the Spurs if he wasn't willing to resign. It's your call of course but when it seems completely out of character for a player you can always edit the contract so he sticks around.

What I did was edit the contracts during the season of players who I wanted to resign with their teams (ie Duncan). For him I just added for the "Year 2" contract for 15mil...so essentially he received/signed a 1yr/15mil extension with the Spurs. I pretty much have every player I'm having re-sign with their teams edited, and for options I know the player will decline/accept irl I set to team option so I will decline/accept them in the offseason.

For example, Dwight Howard I set to team option which I will decline, and Elton Brand I set to team option which I will accept(since he ALWAYS declines that 18mil for some reason).

Only suggestion I can give you is trade him back to the Spurs for probably a draft pick, then trade picks back in forth until the Spurs have their pick back and Duncan.

Jameer Nelson- Yes, no way he declines that much money when he knows he's only worth about 4-5mil MAYBE.

Farmar- Could go either way here...what I like to do in situations like this is let random.org decide. Best out of 7 (#1 is accept, #2 is decline). I do this for players that I'm up in the air about resigning(example is Landry Fields).

Aldrich- I'm gonna say they accept it irl just for the size depth they will have with him. Big men are expensive, even if they aren't allstar calibur players because it's so hard to find quality Centers.

Crawford- This one is tough to call as well. It's going to depend on who the Blazers bring in to replace Wallace and Felton(if they walk). Personally, I edited the contracts of Batum and Felton to "resign" them to the Blazers already. Here's what I gave them if you're interested (5% back contract type):

                            Batum- 4yrs/ 5.88mil, 6.16mil, 6.44mil, 6.72mil(player option)
                            Felton- 4yrs/ 10.04mil, 10.52mil, 10.99mil, 11.47mil(team option)

And I dunno what you're doing with Oden but I gave him 4yrs too since he won't be injured in my game with my manually injuring guys at random, so he'll be productive(actually have him starting over Camby now).

Brandon Jennings, the Milwaukee Bucks' leading scorer, told ESPN.com Thursday he will strongly consider leaving Milwaukee for one of the league's larger markets once his rookie contract ends.

Just a little tidbit to keep in mind about Jennings.

I extended Oden at 5 years 36.64mil. thanks for your thoughts. One other thing with Crawford is that he might be willing to take a little less to sign up with a contender for a run at a ring. He's always seemed a bit selfish and more about $$$ and stats, but that might just be my perception.
