Okay guys I just got the results in from some extensive freestyle shooting practice.
I took Brad Beal and put him up against Luke Ridnour in live practice.
I edited both players to be 80 overall, 80 in every major shooting category, gave them "great" in every ability category, and made sure every other tendency and attribute matched up as identically as possible.
I then took them into freestyle practice and shot 130 shots with both of them. 10 shots in 13 different hot zones. (I didn't include the hot zone directly under the hoop because it's just layups and both players would go 10/10). I made sure every single shot taken was A+ release if possible. If it was an early/late release, I didn't count the shot. Here are the results:

Okay, so I understand to really get conclusive results I'd have to shoot over 1000 shots, but 130 gave me some pretty solid results. Imagine taking any two 2K players, putting them in this same situation, shooting 130 shots, and taking a look at the results. Wouldn't you believe two guys rated exactly the same would come out with similar results? 20 more shots made by Ridnour is a bit too much for my taste.
So if you guys aren't experiencing this, no worries, I'm not here to start up something if no one else is experiencing this. I just noticed people are mentioning this in the glitch and 1.4 patch threads and for the first time, I noticed it really impact my game today.
Fortunately, this doesn't seem to impact CPU gameplay at all. Simulations seem to work out fine and CPU AI using drafted players seems to be fine. I can always tweak the sliders if I'm noticing the CPU going cold.
So my tweak will simply be taking any player I draft, raising his shooting abilities, lowering his off/def awareness until I get him back to the same OVR. I'll probably raise shot close/medium/3pt by 10 pts each.
Again, if you guys are positive it's not affecting your associations, no worries. For those bothered by this, hopefully this serves both as evidence and as some kind of workaround.
