I understand the disappointment but people should have some perspective. Updates to player art isn't a mainstream sports game feature - I don't even think another game has tried to implement it to date. They didn't have a competitor they were trying to make themselves look better next to. So designating it a "marketing ploy" makes no sense. 2K aren't complete idiots as some of you make them out to be; there's no reason whatsoever for them to say they'd deliver something that wouldn't have been expected in the first place. This isn't like in-game saves, online, etc. or other features that people have come to expect from [most] sports games. In the bigger scheme of things, imo it's not as big a deal as some are trying to elevate it to be.
Still, there's no excuse for 2K not commenting on the issue. That makes no sense to me. I'm sure updating things like tattoos and maybe hair would require scanning of some sort of head/body scanning which might normally occur at least once before the season (as it does with other sports) - obviously the lockout threw that timetable out. But there's no excuse for why nothing's been updated to date or why they've been so quiet on the issue. I think the lack of communication is what's more frustrating than anything, not the issue itself.
