you should import only your player with stats and achievements NOT ratings and rosters. The scenario should be you coming back in a new team from a HUGE injury which caused a drop down of most of your ratings thus you have to rebuild your career (ala brandon roy)

I think our my players should start at 70 overall but there should be a cap on your skill points per year. You shouldn't be able to work yourself to be the best player in the league in the first season. 60 overall don't deserve to get minutes in the NBA. Also you get better by doing skill workouts and practicing hard not by playing in games. In the real life rookie players aren't bums but they don't dominate. 2k needs to find a grey area.

Its ridiculous that Point Guards start out with a 60 ball security.

Na it's not that. I would love to be able to import an old My Player. It's just that it doesn't seem feasible in a realistic manner. I wouldn't want to start over someone like Joe Johnson because to me, that's unrealistic. He's not a bench player and the dude is making 20 mil per season. You don't pay bench players that.

But at the same time, I wouldn't want to be a 90+ OVR and have to come off the bench behind him because I would be too good for that. And if the rosters weren't updated, what if someone wanted to play for a team like NOLA in 2K13 so they can play with EJ, Rivers and Davis, but can't because the rookies aren't on their current rosters due to last year's roster being used?

It's just that there are pros and cons to importing with updated rosters as well as without. On one hand, you won't be able to play with rookies or on teams that made trades that you like. On the other, rotations could get tricky if you are playing on a team that was previously weak at your position in 2K12, but has since become strong IRL in 2K13.

I was thinking about this some more last night, and I think the biggest problem will be the achievements and related commentary. Since a lot of the chatter in the booth is about players and teams and what they did last season (with some historical facts here and there), the commentary is going to sound woefully out of place.

For example, if you are playing against the Heat, and it was the team your MP was on that won the championship during the '11-'12 season, it's going to frustrate you for them to continuously talk about how the Heat finally won, LeBron silencing critics, etc., etc. If you won the scoring title in '11-'12, and you're playing the Thunder, the scoring title talk will be about Durant, not you.
This is a good point. I agree.
