2k is gonna lay the hammer this year. With Live coming back they are going to close the door on any hope of that game being considered better. I don't see this game being like NCAA where it looks exactly like the previous year. I still can't stop playing 2k12 and i've already preordered 2k13.

Its not literal. Not in the literal sense of no other games will be made but they would of been to the point where the 2k series would be becoming the madden of basketball to where it would start to gather a mass following.

The fact that ea canceled their game. More people where given 2k12 a shot that would normally go with the live series for whatever reason. Had 2k12 been a great installment following 2k11 the 2k series would of converted more users to the base and kept the strong following they had for 2k11.

2k12 was barebones, had issues with online and had disappointing gameplay mechanics which opened up the door which could of been tightened further to the point where it would of just became a juggernaut like the madden following. Instead you have the live base not impressed with the 2k12 product, some of the 2k11 base not impressed with 2k12 and are keeping their options open.

Ea has a great chance for a quicker turnaround and must have been saying to themselves we dodged a bullet. Instead of being on all pro football status they actually have a shot of gaining a lot of users back on board quicker then they anticipated.

Last year when NBA 2K11 was out people were complaining about cheesing, so don't get your point. If you want a 100% sim authenic game the ONLY way to do it is to either A. Join a Sim League B. Play Only Sim Appoints or C. PLAY OFFLINE.
nah bro we talking about online in 2k12 where everyone is domique wilkens dunking with easy or floating through paint defense becasue of the lack of contact. 2k11 online was alot better and every player in the game with a decent dunk rating didnt do highlights in all game with ease. The various clips of ghosting while starting spinlayup, hopsteps, etc etc are true and its step back from the various 2k11 paint contact animations we had.

Its not about people being close minded. When you have a chance to add a substantial amount of user base to your following with no competition and you release a barebones, buggy, frustrating experience. You leave the lane for the competitor wider open to gather back a user base much quicker.

2k12 was barebones online. Not many options at all. The servers were horrible for an extensive amount of time. The gameplay mechanics were nothing home to write about. It was more frustrating then enjoyable. The passing, the cpu ai teamates dumbness, cpu going into god mode when they needed to, my player getting worse, crew being taken out, no lobbies, poor matchmaking, legends online being relased as dlc etc... I would say that it was a very disappointing especially being the follow up to 2k11.

But lets keep it about the topic of spurs vs thunder gameplay video coming 6/4.

exactly so how can you comment on someone who complains about how bad 2k12 online is and how easy cheesing is compared to 2k11? believe me , all i play is online mostly and when you can shoot three pointers with carl landry and excessive pullup jumpers in traffic over 3 defenders, theres a huge problem. Congrats for being deticated to making game good for older offline players but alot perfer human vs human.

For example, last year I wasn't really afraid of anyone -- not LA, not Miami, nor the NBA champion Mavericks. Why? Because I knew if I just ran a correct offense (this means plays), I could overcome 90% of the cheese out there. Playing basketball dictated the game. This year I constantly have to avoid the top teams due to players like Durant, Westbrook, and Harden dunking on you whenever they feel like it. Casual players can compete (and dominate in some cases) with cheap tactics that didn't really work in years past.

I mean, if I really compared them I could probably find a couple more things but this is just off the top of my head. 2k12 is a good game but I believe it needs to leave that casual approach alone and get back to the 'sim' foundation it was built on.
Okay now, I see what your were saying. Just that when you say this "I just hope -- with all my heart -- that 2k gets back to sim and leave the casual stuff to the other game" Its interpreted as your saying the game is casual.

I can't defend online just as I said before I can't and won't defend everything 2k has done with 2k12. They really need to fix online because I know its a crowd that just plays online. Just like I online play quick play. Thank you for not making this a spectacle and having a quick conversation that isn't going to result in a ban.

2k11 with the exception of crew (which had the gigantic players) had those problems too lol. I have to defend 2k12 because I just played 2k11 a few weeks ago and to be honest its just a easier game. The cpu does the same thing in the second half that it does on 2k12. People act as if these problems are new, which is false warping, bumping, speed recovery are in 2k11 as well.

Online has been a problem for years, lets stop acting as if this year the servers started acting up. I probably wont change your mind and that's fine. I just don't want 2k to water their game down because its too "challenging". I really feel as if the only reason why people like 2k11 is because its easier. That's because I felt like that. Trying to play 2k12 like its 2k11 was the problem. I had to get better and step my game up, skill level really does makes a difference when it comes to enjoying a game. Its not a diss its true, if we aren't good at something we usually don't like it.

As far as the gameplay statement, 2k12 is better. Better post offense and defense, implementing escape dribbles, isomotion system is 10x better, on-ball defense speed, hot spots, hands up actually works, can strip jump shots, shot blocking. The mention gameplay features separates 2k11 imo.

Please lets stop acting like 2k11 is better when pre-patch it was worse than 2k12. Passes always were intercepted, warping was out of control and the cpu shot making was unstoppable. Like I said before the online was better argument is false since they both are equally terrible.

The fact that you just called 2k12 barebones when it had more features and depth than just about any bball game ever made shows your post is full of unsubstantiated bias. 2k won the basketball war years ago. They're only competition (sales AND gameplay wise) is themselves and it's been that way for a while.
