What I'm implying, buddy, is that the dunk contest last year was dull and the game's dunk contest is recreating that experience.

Lot of emotions over a 12 second clip of controls that no one has used yet. Haven't the dunk controls always been more about timing than each button representing a specific action?

Emotions because from what they showed you don't control the player. You pick a dunk then if goes to "Dunk Hero 2k13" Who wants to play that?

They're trying to appeal to more casual gamers. I've had friends over playing the dunk contest in 2k (when it was in) and it was almost more of a contest to see who could execute a dunk, not get the highest score. I never really had a problem pulling off dunks but all my friends did. And nobody really played it that often either, so I'm not going to complain about the change right now.

If you don't have friends, I can see why you hate this.

But if you have friends that come to your house to play games, this is great.

Respectfully, I must wonder if a button-mashing dunk contest where one's input does not directly correspond to the specific action of the player on the screen is really going to be a draw amongst friends. In all honesty, I feel my friends (who are not basketball guys) would be just as appalled at the dunk contest setup as anyone else. I can already see them stopping me mid-sentence as I explain the directions, saying, "Wait, I don't really control the dunk? I'm just pressing random buttons and how well I do at that will decide whether the video of him dunking plays out well?"

I can't imagine this will make it into the game. It should be a combination of degree of difficulty and timing with the current control setup.

Personally, I sucked at the 2k11 dunk contest so I like that they made it easier for people, but I aint too hot on the controls.

There most def. is alternative controls. If not then whatever, probably play it a couple times just to see the animations i guess. As long as you dont have to do the same **** for the three point contest LOL. The three point contest is usually what I would play with friends who are casual players.

Hopefully 2K will listen to the fans and change the Dunk Contest controls back to the 2K10 version. I hope they do cause I will not be playing the mode if they keep it like that.

No problem with it. I'm probably only going to do the dunk contest once or twice by myself, and then with a bunch of friends, drunk anyway. Not like this is how you play the actual game, the dunk contest means very little to me personally.

Could be getting trolled by our wonderful 2K dev guys. There could be a whole 'nother control scheme they just haven't brought it out for everyone to be seen yet.
