Right now it's pre order only though.

I don't get why 2k just didnt put it in every new copy. Forcing people to HAVE to buy the game the day it comes out is horrible. I preordered but what about the people that get the game that month new and such?

You guys want to ensure a purchase so put the code in every new copy. If ou buy it used there would be a small chance that you'd get the code unused still in the box

I was thinking there's likely incentive for them as a company to have significant first week sales, similar to how musical artists would often sell their CD's cheaper the week of release. So again, it wouldn't exactly surprise me if folks within 2K were to give no indication the ASW would later be available, just so they could boost their pre-orders and opening day numbers as much as possible.

The All-Star Weekend just seems like way too big of a mode from which to exclude any non-pre-ordering consumers.

I got a separate leaflet with the codes for the Kings and Warriors with my preorder last year. It was outside the box.

I think mine was inside. But as you said, it was a separate page with the Warriors and Kings logo on it.

I agree with this. It seems like a lot of videogame companies want to keep people from buying used games because they make no money on used games. So why not just say that all new copies come with it and have it as a code, like some companies currently do for online.

If u don't pre-order, I'm hoping you'll have to buy the DLC from the marketplace for MS points(400-800).....points that you could've saved if you just used 5.00 to pre-order a game that you plan on buying anyways.....

I think it will be like last year with the warriors and kings team. I purchased NBA2K 12 on release day from GameStop and a code for the classic teams was inside the case on a separate paper.

Is the DLC a code that comes with the box? Because I don't get the game 'till Black Friday so do you think people will sell the code on like eBay for a few bucks? I'd much rather pay 30 bucks for the game plus however much the DLC would cost than pre-ordering and paying $60+,

so the gamestop in my area is closed but we have best buy here. If i pre-order from best buy I still will get the code right? Just want make sure because I don't want actually preorder the game and end up without the code

From what I understand it's only a $5 fee for pre ordering in the US so why take the chance of not getting ASW?

It will most probably be a DLC that you get a code for in the box. As of right now, as has been written multiple times in this thread, the only way to get ASW is to pre order the game and pick it up on release day.

Why take the chance?

I'm assuming the pre-order situation is same for Canada and US.

Here in Canada, I see that both EB games (gamestop) and Bestbuy are advertising NBA2K13 with pre-order bonus (access to the 2013 All-Star Weekend)

Check Bestbuy US website just to be sure.
