I liked the isomotion in 11 a little better in 11 with the exception of the quick spin move in 12. I think the escape dribbles could of been implemented better because it is not organic like the signature dribbles in 11. It also seems that you could exploit defensive mismatches better in 11 with less bumping than 12 presents. I think the halftime show and the postgame signature highlights were done better in 11. I like the post game and the plays better in 12. I really like the feel of the shooting and the implementation of the the pivot moves with circular motions better in 12 as well. For 13 to be successful they need to build of the best of both games and really nail the fundamentals of basketball such as the simple things... Passing, and pick and roll, pick and pop. I think they get it right with 13. I have faith. I even liked the soundtrack in 11 better than 12. Classic cuts in my opinion
Couldn't have said it better myself
Only respectable people deserve respect, you destroyed the game.

One, double-teaming IS in the game; you're referring to the cpu not recognizing the need to use it, or not using it anywhere near enough. I think it needs to be more prevalent in the game, but if I remember correctly with 2K11 double-teams always forced you to pick up your dribble/get rid of the ball - not sure it works always in real life. Secondly, and I'm going off memory, but I remember the double-team animation being somewhat static in the way it played out animation-wise. People were complaining about "canimations" in 2K11; 2K works to make the animation system more free-flowing with 2K12 and the complaint is people want [some] canimations back *sigh*.

Another thing re the lack of cpu double-teams is it was about a month after the game released before it became an issue on the forums. Most people weren't noticing it until they were made aware the issue was there. Not trying to ignite any debate on the issue as I know there were some people pretty passionate about the problem when it was being debated months ago. While I can see where it removes a level of immersiveness for some when playing the cpu, I don't think the issue rises to the level of almost being a gamekiller. Really depends on the individual imo.

One thing I'm surprised I'm not hearing is how the lack of good defensive rotations in 2K11 is now magically not a problem. I remember people complaining at length back when the 2K11 released about the defensive rotations and how it messed up the drive and kick game, or whatever other aspect of the gameplay it supposedly messed up. Defensive rotations are vastly improved with 2K12. Personally I'm hoping in 2K13 that they'll use the more free-flowing/less static animation system and have the cpu more intelligently trap and double.
I dont see hardly any double teaming, a good test is take someone like Howard learn the post game and jus pound it to him. In nba after a few trips of domination they will start doubling, I dnt see that in 2k12. I will test some more, and as far as d rotations go. They do not rotate like they do in the nba. Just look at the finals the thunder got killed bc of rotations. Opening up the drive and kick game, this is not in 2k12.

There's no need to test more, everyone acknowledges the problem exists. But that's the thing - unless you try to play a certain way, the issue isn't very noticeable. So calling it "almost a gamekiller" when most people don't play the game that way doesn't make sense. Regarding defensive rotations, I didn't say the game mirrored real life. Most things are going to pale in comparison to real life. I only stated some people made it a point to say poor defensive rotations was a huge issue back in 2K11. And that the devs significantly improved defensive rotations with 2K12.

Regardless, I love both games for what they are. I'm not sure why some feel they're making some disparaging statement of the developers by saying 2K11 is better than 2K12, when the same group of people made both games. But to each his own. I just don't get how some are acting like the games are night and day.
HBO's "The Wire" should rank as one of the top 10 shows EVER on tv - period

                Re: NBA 2K11 was better?

2k12 is a better game, but, if I kept 2k11 and didn't buy 2k12 I wouldn't feel like I've missed much. There are some gameplay elements that are better and the presentation in 12 is definitely better but it doesn't feel like a giant leap was made one year to the next.

Knowing what I know now, 2k13 isn't a "must-buy" for me in the same way that Madden, in my opinion, is an every other year purchase.

                  Good post.

I play both (and some Live 10) and enjoy both games for what they are. 2K11 will always stay in my 360 rotation just due to all the Classic Rosters that PortlandBlazer and MKHarsh33 did, and 2K12 keeps me interest with Greatest Mode and my current-day Association with the Knicks, using the 3.28 SimWorld roster.
