This Rockets player is a Christian who wishes to be a missionary.


One of my all time favorite players. Charlie Ward. One of the greatest College Athletes. In college he stared in Basketball and Football. His football skills were better than his basketball. Despite not playing baseball in college he was drafted as a pitcher by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 59th round of the 1993 free agent draft and in the 18th round by the New York Yankees in 1994. He is now a basketball and football coach at a Christian High School in Houston.

He's not really jumping next to the rim. By the size of the rim/backboard, he's much closer to the camera than the basket, so it's hard to see how high he went. I doubt he could touch the top of the backboard without even stretching his arm, yet it looks like that in the photo. Still a great shot!
