Someone who can make himself and their teammates better, depending on what his strengths are.

    For example:

-Setting picks (player runs, cuts in plays are done quicker)
-Making passes (plays are less interrupted by the defense, teammates work better to get open)
-Rebounding (teammates box out more effectively)
-Hitting open shots (teammates will work the ball to you if you get a good look)
    -Playing defense

Depending o the type of player, it could be one, some or more of the above categories.
Only respectable people deserve respect, you destroyed the game.

Sportscenter or youtube sensation- highlight dunks blake griffin style in your face jams

Momentum changer- someone who can make a play whether it be an electrifying dunk or crazy pass or ankle breaker that will either get the home crowd and team going crazy or take the air out of the away teams arena.

Re: NBA 2K13 Signature Skills -- Confirmed Additions vs Speculated Additions

I think these signature skills were meant for casuals to understand more about what players are good at and to help 2K mimic what hardcore NBA fans see as well as expand their game at the same time. Some of these signature skills may turn into negatives for certain players. Example:

        1. "Semi auto- shooter" think like a JR Smith he shoots and shoots at times whether he is on off he continues to shoot

        2. "streaky shooter" self explanatory could have a good game shooting or bad. I know they have consistency ratings but this could relate to shooting only

        3. "aggressive defender" Think like a Javele Mcgee he is a great shot blocker but I would say he goaltends way more shots than he should have. So you can have a guy who is aggressive but their BB IQ not be high and can lead to making bad plays. Another player like Pietrus great on-ball defender but he stay falling for pump fakes and making bad fouls.

        4. "Beast on the block" They will give something to give the good post move players a separation

        5. "Charge takers" Derek Fisher, Battier, Collison guys who take charges

        6. "Mad Handles" guys more likely to break your ankles

        7. "Veteran Leader" These guys will pick up your team and improve morale when things are going bad in the game, momentum swings etc.

        8. " Dunk Artist" self explantory

        9. "Huslte man" Varejao's, Battier the energizer guys diving on the floor

        10. "Grand Theft" the guys who are adept at picking pockets, Rondo, CP3.

        11. "Defensive Intensity" These are the guys that amp up your defense by their pressence think Noah, Garnett, Tyson Chandler

        12. "Clutch Gene" self explanatory

        13. "Mr Cool" This is more like a composure skill. When things aren't going good these guys can keep their head in the game more individual.

        14. "Glass Cleaner" guys good at rebounding

        15. "Tap out drill" These guys will be good at tapping the ball out keeping plays alive by tapping the ball to teammates.

        16. "Mid range" self explanatory

Abilities or traits worked so well in All Pro because it was the only way to differentiate athletes and unlocked different animations.

Since NBA 2ks ratings, tendencies and abilities cover so much territory most traits will be redundant unless they unlock more animations to reflect an advanced or more expansive technique. otherwise there are only so many intangibles. inspiring veterans? great screeners? great roll men? floor generals? great off-ball screen users? great on-ball screen users? Is that it, did i miss any intangibles that are hard to capture with ratings?

An option would be to unlock these traits tied to ratings by achieving a certain level on a combination of ratings, for example 80 speed + 60 block +90 vertical + 70 d awareness +80 hustle = "Chase down block" which would unlock more effective animations and lower layup ratings to replicate intimidation.

Yeah, my feeling is that these will be the same as APF where these skills initiate animations that are exclusive to the players who have them.

I like the idea of giving players attributes it separates guys from the pack. Wonder if this will be available to use in My Player.

Renacentist machine: Player perhaps not top on anythind but very good doing everything in a basketball court: Ex, Lebron.

Mister Intangibles: great in doing things (ofense and defense) that dont fill the stats sheet but help the team to win. Ex, Kirilenko.

X factor: able to win (or lose) the game on his own in a particular night. Ex, J.R. Smith.

                Cheers!

                  I really hope so !!!

Would be amazing also would be nice if you unlocked like three at a time and only got to pick one of the three something to make you have to think about what kind of player you would want to be.

that "corner 3pt shot specialist" ability better not artificially boost player ratings. If a guy has a 74 3pt rating , he shouldnt be hitting them consistantly just because he stands in the corner

Yeah that is part of it but what if he is say 40% from corner threes and that is his hot spot but say only 25-32% from other spots he will have a hot spot there and shoot a better %. A corner 3pt specialist is just a way for you to know where his preffered hot spot really is and he should go to that spot as well more times than not when he doesn't have the ball. I take it as they programmed them to spot up at these specific spots.

Disagree. I think that's exactly what should happen. Bruce Bowen was an average 3pt shooter everywhere else but let him get in the corner and he'd make some 3s with regularity.

then individual ratings mean nothing just hotspots. The abilities in 2k12 basically voided some ratings like post fadeaway ability even though the big has no jumpshot what so ever. I hope this doesnt become a handicap

The corner shot skill is just a better way to display hotspots without going to practice, I think it is good

Trash talking : in 1v1, the trash talkers lower the atributes from his rival.
Need the ball : a player that in case that he doesn't receive the ball too often, his atributes decrease
Off screen shooters: players that coming from an off screen have a burst in their shooting rating

Pump fake specialist: his first pump fake affects the reaction of the defensive player
Slow pace player/ fast pace player: if your team plays with a slow pace/fast pace, his atributes increase a little.
