What Difficulty Level Will You Be Playing On In NBA 2k13? Will HOF Still Be Cheesy?

I'm still trying to figure out what is the purpose of all-star and the higher levels of difficulty if there is sliders.......... but I dont play assoc. and sometimes random games, anyway it seems everytime I go up in difficulty period the dumber the cpu gets but still make to many tough shots no matter who it is. I thought higher levels meant for the cpu to be more intelligent but no they actually take smarter shots and actually shoot more open jumpshots including more pull-ups on pro. All they seem to do on higher levels is to force it in the paint, get speed boosts on fastbreaks, pump fake and shoot contested shoots.

I'm still thinking pro is the best level for balance, I'm not to much of a slider guy b/c I play online and my player but if I want to start a random game it just seems like pro is less cheesy which I hope is not the case for NBA 2k13. I hope the cpu actually takes what the defense gives which I think/hope will probably be a little better if they take out all the pump fakes and up and unders. Im tired of seeing d-wade step back and pump fake all the time, he does let that thang loose sometime. I never even seen him let loose a spin jumper.

(I just play random games vs the cpu sometime so I'm not going to fool with sliders its never good enough to me and you cant use it online or in my player)

I'm usually playing superstar / hall of fame sim but i'll probably try All-star at the beginning till i know how to play with those new controls and get back to superstar / HOF

    will HOF still be chessy?
I can't link right now but watch Chris Smoove video
"NBA 2k13 Impressions Part 3 - Physics, Post moves, & Dev discussion" is the name of the video, he talks about HOF at 6:00 !

Every year I play on hall of fame sim in my player because if I'm still dominating I can't make the difficult any higher so it feels legit. Playing on hall of fame in 2K11 actually made me very careful and I made very few mistakes even in other modes.

Hall of Fame Simulation sliders from the beginning, just like 2K11 and 2K12.

hopefully All Star or Superstar Simulation right off the bat. I came off NBA 2K11 playing on Superstar/Sim but the transition to NBA 2K12 wasn't so pretty as I had to start from the ground up.

I start Pro, than quickly to all star, then when I start getting blowouts, HOF or Superstar.

I usually play Superstar/Sim. In the Smoove video the devs themselves said that HOF boosts the cpu opponent's ratings, which I've suspected for a while. To me, the cpu plays the same way they do in HOF on Superstar, just without the ratings boost, so Superstar works for me.

That would have been acceptable back in the last gen 2k games. But I expect 2k to revamp the A.I next gen instead of cutting corners. In fact all sports games suffer that problem highlighted and so far they aren't getting any closer to translating difficulty without unbalanced gameplay. It's a shame this gets overshadowed year after year.

I never understood why people complain about cheating on Hall of Fame. Any video game you put on the hardest difficulty, "Cheating" is pretty much expected.

Maybe it would be better if they took a page out of Gears of War's book and renamed it "Insane mode".

This sounds like a good strategy to use. I think I will do the same thing. I believe I usually play on All-Star sim because I'm an average player but I think I'll play a game or two on Pro in pre-season of my association to get use to controls and hopefully dominate (surely I'm not that bad :wink and then bump it up from there.

I agree, but honestly 2k12 takes it to another level. The games become basically unplayable to me and I found myself needing to cheese pretty bad to keep up with the cpu.

Allstar for me, or even Pro with some cpu sliders raised

Whatever plays the best. Never understood why some are so pressed to play HOF for out the box. Many of these people are the ones who complain the game is too difficult and request patches that dumb down the challenge.

                            I'll probably stick with Pro/Simulation.

In past games, I've always found that the higher the difficulty, the faster the game pace, and the more the cheese (including myself). I practically have to cheese back just to keep up with the CPU.

I will only play on HOF against a human opponent, against the CPU I stop at all-star, because IMO I don't like the way I have to play to win above that.
