I will only play on HOF against a human opponent, against the CPU I stop at all-star, because IMO I don't like the way I have to play to win above that.

Same here. Everyone I play with we always default everything to HOF/Simulation, I guess just out of habit since the Lakers vs Celtics days when we always put it on whatever's the highest settings.

But 2K12 is borderline unplayable on HOF unless you wanna experience complete frustration. There's only so many times I can take seeing PG's like Mike Conley stuff a Blake Griffin dunk on the break.

I've found a reasonably playable setup for me, though, where I put it on SS/Sim and put a 10 pt differential between HUM and CPU sliders (+5 for HUM, -5 for CPU) with pretty much all the sliders, and it helps to lessen some of the ridiculousness. Not all though.

MyPlayer needs sliders more than anything though, because I've found that no matter what difficulty you're on, the CPU is a bunch of Hakeems and Ray Allen's and you're teammates play like bush league amateurs.

I normally play with allstar with bumped up cpu sliders. I dont have that pride issue so no need for HOF. I like fast breaks and dont like players being superman around the court. I love a challenge and could easily beat hof, but what I have to do to win is the issue. Prior to 2k12 HOF cpu didnt cause as much frustration.

Remember reading from 2k that higher difficulties only increased the opponents and didnt increase for your teammates. If its fixed this year, I might give it a try.

You're right it really did come to an absurd point in 2K12. The CPU does stuff you couldn't dream of on HOF. And MyPlayer is the worst offender. You'll watch as Dwight hits contested fades, Darren Collison grab boards over KLove, and you can have LeBron as a teammate and he'll play like a complete bum, but he'll give you 40, 12 and 12 if he's your opponent. To give your team a chance you have to basically directly create 70-80% of the scoring opportunities.

I've been playing on hof, recently and tell you the truth i've been enjoying the game, I'm not using any roster just the 2k one. I think i'll stick with hof, when I get there skill wise.

I go HOF/Sim right out of the box every year (after some practice time of course), but after dealing with the magical HOF cpu in 2k12, i'll keep my options open.

After endless laughable games vs the HOF A.I., i seriously felt like going down to Visual Concepts headquarters and choking everyone in sight.

i think theres no cheatin this year ?
cause when i played against hof couple of times they were just too good, finding open man, making space for a shot, passing well etc. there were no magic pg jumping over centers or making every shot with hand in opponents face.

Superstar/Sim with Fatigue Rate at 70. Plays realistic. Not only the big men get tired, but also the guards. Also, it makes your bench depth that much more important, adding more strategy to game play.
