NBA 2K is always improving. Every Year!!!!!
I think it's dope that NBA 2K continues to improve every yr. I recently started collecting all of the NBA 2K games. I bought 2k7 and 8. When I played them it made me appreciate 2K soooooooo much more. Because they have improve this series in so many levels it's unreal. Crazy thing is that those games are still good to this day. This is why I continue to support 2K. Cause even if there is something I want in the game that doesn't make it this yr. It's probably going to end up in the game in the near future. That's all I can ask for.

Umm...yeah...sure. I don't think a game deserves praise if it's JUST improving. That's what I expect from it, otherwise I wouldn't buy it. It's not like 2K are improving at a rapid pace though:
- The presentation/crowds/audio is still worse than NBA Live 10
- The new feature of Online Association was just Online Leagues of 2K11 stripped to the bare bones.
- For all we know, players may still not be able to go directly to the basket when turning a corner but may have to approach in a CIRCULAR fashion, allowing their defender to catch up and negate the fact that they have been beaten.
- We don't know if we'll actually be able to block dunks in the new game instead of being teabagged like a noob.
- Nice, we've got manual bounce pass, but after how many years? Why can't we choose to do a chest pass or a lob pass?
- Why is the fake pass function redundant?
I'm not going to give 2K credit for taking ideas from other games and implementing them in their own game (I don't fault them either). That's what they SHOULD be doing. When are they going to start to innovate again like they did with 24/7 back in the day?
You may just be content with what 2K put out every year, LRBTODAY, but I expect and DEMAND MORE.Originally posted by Dogslax41Most people that are asking for a simulation game don’t really want a simulation game because its too hard. -

On the cool. I'm just expressing how much I appreciate the growth in the series after I went back and played previous versions. That's it. From every sports series that I play I don't see one that has as much growth in it then NBA 2K. Maybe there is one, but I haven't seen it. Thank you for your opinion.Comment

It's always amazing how to some, the fact that 2k gets better adds features and listens to the pleas of he public means nothing. I always think 2k can be better but I have, in my 12 years of playing nba 2k, never felt like they haven't put in work to make the game better.XboxOne: Bornkwau77Comment

I think in a few ways 2K took a step back from 2K11 to 2K12, but I like your positivity, dude. 2K13 is shaping up to be their best yet.Comment

Re: NBA 2K is always improving. Every Year!!!!!
SMH at plain ignorance...... I coulda swore that 2k11/12 had he best presentation in the history of videogaming. SMH at lame attempts to hate on something. Your opinion is garbage bro.
...
Wow, so even though OA had much more content than online leagues, you say its a stripped down version of something that had no depth to begin with......... Damn that comment was dumb my guy.
What content?
Which version allowed you to change the sliders?
Which version allowed you to advance at your own leisure?
Which version allowed you to make instant trades?
Which version allowed you to invite back people who had booted out?
Which version allowed you to check which players were online?
Which version allowed you to challenge online players without having to sending a message to them?
Which version allowed you to join five leagues?
Which version allowed you to save basic settings like having your plays on auto?
Which version constantly crashes and keeps on having to be put on hold so that the 2K admin can fix it?
Which version has a website that took so long to be released and when it was finally released, it was extremely basic?
Next time you dare post, THINK, before you display such stupidity and ignorance.Originally posted by Dogslax41Most people that are asking for a simulation game don’t really want a simulation game because its too hard.Comment

So faking the pass and watching the defender lunge or flinch == redundant to you? What do you want? For the defender to turn and run to the fake receiver?

Love 2k. They have made the game better through the years except for 2k7 to 2k8 being the obly obvious exception. 11 to 12 spurs debate but even if 12 didn't go way forward hard to argue it went back much. I know I an looking forward to what is sure to be another strong showing this year. The stick changes alone are enough for me to want to pick up the game.Gamertag and PSN Mrclutch1013

Re: NBA 2K is always improving. Every Year!!!!!
Crowd is your only win there, dude.
No it isn't. Did you see the NBA Live 13 leaked video. It looked like an ESPN TV broadcast. They haven't just surrendered it to Jay-Z like 2K have, essentially giving a blueprint of a building to a kid to scribble on with his crayons. The audio is better in Live as well, the swish of the nets, the various sounds of the crowds and the arena music.
You go through a list of things in OL that were not in OA. Try the other way around? And some of them are wrong, btw.
Erm...yes? That is exactly what I did and it shows how much of a fraud OA is as a mode and how regressive is. Why take the best stuff out of OL? They aren't wrong. They're all right.
Do you REALLY want to go there? What game are you playing? I've never had a problem getting to the basket in any way that was realistic. But that's just me. Are you a turbo king? Sounds like it.
No, I'm not a turbo king but congratulations on the lazy thinking that led you to such a baseless accusation. Here's the video evidence: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EYA2v...feature=g-hist
There is plenty of visual evidence that you can block dunk even in the current versions of the game. But I know where you're going here and I can agree that dunks are OP overall. Just like in every basketball game ever made, but oh well.
Since when? You can try pressing the block button, but it doesn't actually make you move. You get stuck to the floor and then get teabagged. Teabagging is a new thing as well. In 2K11 you would actually jump before being baptised. Now, you can't even do that
You know, manual bounce has been in the series before. The biggest outcry was for bounce passes and that's been added. Kinda kills your point though, doesn't it?
No it wasn't. It was in CH2K8. Even if it was, why does 2K need 5 years to implement such a feature. If anything that makes my point even stronger.
So faking the pass and watching the defender lunge or flinch == redundant to you? What do you want? For the defender to turn and run to the fake receiver?
I can't do them when I'm on a fastbreak.
First EVERY game has original and stolen ideas. You just said that's what they should be doing. So why even bring it up. Most importantly however, is that people seem to forget how much has been tried and removed from older versions of 2K. Oh, that's right, they didn't play 2K. Everyone was playing Live and didn't notice any new feature until Live put it in.
The right stick dribbling system was in Live 09/10? Why didn't 2K immediately implement it into 2K11? Why did it take them 3/4 years? I'm saying they shouldn't be praised for something they should be doing. They're not babies. Some of the stuff that has been removed was good stuff and some of the stuff that has been plaguing the series is STILL there. That a perverse view of trial and error if you ask me.
Maybe when the need to add and fix USER REQUESTED features die down? Maybe?
Or they could stop appealing to shoe fetishists and instead focus on basketball fundamentals and you know, get back to create a SIMULATION game.
And the game could be perfect and I bet you'd STILL demand more. I'd bet you'd be more than happy to be the nitpick. And that's cool. It'll make VC want to shut you up more hopefully and that will lead to a better game. We all win. So, keep it up man. You're doing great.
I demand more when they aren't innovating or surprising me and instead giving me a disappointing online association mode and an arcade quick match mode.Last edited by Optik; 08-28-2012, 07:11 PM.Originally posted by Dogslax41Most people that are asking for a simulation game don’t really want a simulation game because its too hard.Comment
