I will say this as my reply. As a consumer I expect the best. W/ 2K I get that every yr. Honestly the things most people gripe about w/ the game is petty as hell in my opinion. Again, my opinion. If there comes a point where 2K slacks off then I will feel the need to complain. The one thing that I was gonna have a problem w/ this yr was Pippen not on the dream team. Now they got him. Again, this is what I looking forward to. Mostly everyone I see is wanting Crew, better online play, and other things that I don't really feel like typing to be honest. I guess I really don't trip about it that much because I play every other day. A couple of games for my enjoyment and I'm back to life. Everybody else isn't the same. Some people want more then that. What I ask for is the best sim basketball experience I have ever had, and to me I get that with 2K.

Re: NBA 2K is always improving. Every Year!!!!!
I'm going to keep it short. When I gave you audio, I only gave you crowd. Not commentary, sound effects, ambient sounds, halftime shows, pre and post game shows, teasers, and highlights, etc... I already gave you the overlays, but that's just this year.
Ok, go down the list of features that were in OA that were not in leagues and tell me which you would prefer. I can already guess your answer though.
If I were a lazy thinker, I wouldn't be where I am today. Thanks. It was a question. Don't jump to conclusions. And good video. Shows a different issue than the one ranted about, but still an issue. One that is supposed to addressed this year.
You are right. It was Choops. Same engine, same dev threw me off. It's clear they just decided they had more important things to do. Your complaints don't make them top priority for the devs I guess. Sucks.
Fake passes on the break wasn't your complaint. You said redundant and I noted how they were far from it.
Why would 2K implement a dribble system just because Live did!? By that time, Live was the chaser. They already explained that. They had their own system that they were content with at the time and were committed to making it work. And many people were happy with it, so why change it when it didn't show a clear benefit in Live to many people. Not to mention they had this thing called the Shot Stick, which was big in its own right.
Who makes a better basketball sim? Every year there is a feature/change that attempts to get the game closer and closer to reality. THAT is the OP's point. They always strive for improvement and getting closer to reality. Sometimes they fall short, but the attempt is clear. I don't know what you expect? Everything as you want it, when you want it? You are never going to get that from ANYONE. Getting the exact feature that you want might come a couple of years later in a form you are not happy with. You just have to deal.Last edited by Boilerbuzz; 08-29-2012, 01:09 AM.Comment

Re: NBA 2K is always improving. Every Year!!!!!
You slander my opinion by giving your proclamation that you swore 2K had the best presentation, based on what exactly? Your hypocrisy and claim to truth is laughable.
What content?
Which version allowed you to change the sliders?
Which version allowed you to advance at your own leisure?
Which version allowed you to make instant trades?
Which version allowed you to invite back people who had booted out?
Which version allowed you to check which players were online?
Which version allowed you to challenge online players without having to sending a message to them?
Which version allowed you to join five leagues?
Which version allowed you to save basic settings like having your plays on auto?
Which version constantly crashes and keeps on having to be put on hold so that the 2K admin can fix it?
Which version has a website that took so long to be released and when it was finally released, it was extremely basic?
Next time you dare post, THINK, before you display such stupidity and ignorance.Comment

Re: NBA 2K is always improving. Every Year!!!!!
I feel, and have felt this way for many years, is that these developers of the sports games are inching along when they could go much further each year. Why? Because they have to save something for you next year. If they gave you all the goods right now, you wouldn't buy the next version. And when they run out of improvements for the time being, they just change a few things, get rid of this good feature, put in this good feature. They've been stringing me along since 2K7 and I'm getting tired of the disappointment. I need the next breakthrough sports game. I haven't felt that since NFL 2K5. No holds barred, 2K! Give me the goods! Give us the goods. Fix what we've been asking for and stop stringing us along just barely for another year, and another.
PS. I didn't buy 2K12, or 2K10, so their tactics only half work on me. The good news is that there is a pattern. I bought 2K9 and 2K11, so maybe 2K13? Nah. I have a bad feeling about it. It will have canimations and too much bumping/holding just like 2K12.Comment

Re: NBA 2K is always improving. Every Year!!!!!
Well I would hope it did since they have the RIGHTS to the ESPN presentation package...other than that...like boiler said and crowd audio. Presentation 2K has been kicking arse for them to be working with their own generic presentation package it has been top notch. I would have to see the final 2k13 release to fully comment on this years, but in the past there has been no competition in my opinion."Wisdom is ALWAYS an overmatch for strength"........The Zen MasterComment

Re: NBA 2K is always improving. Every Year!!!!!
Yeah I fell of the NBA Live wagon in '06. I thought Live '05 was the best game at that time but I didn't like EA's direction compared to 2K. I've been playing since the days of Shaq on the cover, and I was playing on regular XBOX and like the OP said the game just gets better and better every year, {granted 11 to 12 was blegh} but even 12 isn't that bad of a sports game. Hell I was even on ESPN NFL 2K5 with my crib in the days of Madden, 2K is very good with improving, which is why I think most of us gamers are highly disappointed EA bought the license to football games. An ESPN 2K13 would be absolutely RIDICULOUS with how good 2K improves its games.
With Madden being Madden and EA Sports doing terrible at that game and NBA Live basically not being able to hang with 2K, I always find it hysterical when people say they're going to wait for Live 13 information to make their choice on which game to get.Comment

improvements in such a short window. The improvements have to be incremental because you risk breaking the foundation by introducing radical changes, and there is little time to fix them.
However, I think NBA2K has been the exception. Every year feels like a new (and improved) game.
On the other hand, Madden has pretty much been a $60 roster update for a few years now. They seem to be heading in the right direction with '13, but not enough for me to buy. And in all honesty, I think the only reason they are actually trying to get in gear with Madden now is because the NFL exclusivity is over at the end of next season, and there's some uncertainty if the deal will be renewed. I'm sure the NFL wants it, but I'm not so sure EA still feels it's worth the money to have the exclusive license anymore. It will probably come down to how much money EA thinks they will lose paying for the exclusive license versus how much money they will lose allowing 2K to get back in the NFL game.Comment
