What separates the two with the system 2k uses are the following:

    Shoot Off Dribble
    Shoot In Traffic
    Consistency
    Offensive Awareness
    Several Tendencies
    Several Capabilities
    Hot Zones

Durant is going to be better in all of the other "supportive" ratings and capabilities while having the tendencies to ISO, pull-up and take fadeaways, runners and step-back jumpers. Although Bass would technically have a higher Mid-Range Shot rating, he's only going to be able to hit them when he's standing still with nobody around him, as you said, mainly when Rondo is setting him up after drawing the D on a drive. Durant can hit them in nearly any situation. Hence, Durant is actually the better mid-range shooter, despite the rating.

As other poster said above, you are one of the few guys here who knows how the ratings work. People go crazy when I said Bass and Aldridge should have an elite mid range attribute. Thank god there is somebody here who understands how this works

That might be how it 'Works' but that's not how it'll end up

I know for sure KD and dirk will have the two best mid range shots in the game.

If KD got as many open looks as bass, you going to seriously believe that they'd hit the same amount? That's why player ability is a factor. No real NBA fan believes Bass is a better shooter than KD from anywhere. So if i'm the insider, why would I give durant, who everyone knows his strength is his shooting and its one of the reasons he's a 3 time scoring champ, a ..lets say 88 from mid range, and give bass a 93 when I know that if he got open looks all day he'd break records?

I get the shoot off dribble shoot in traffic stuff. But if you leave durant wide open in the game, just like in real life, he should hit more than Bass. period..If I'm playing online and they leave KD open from 15 feet, I should be able to hit more wide open shots with durant than bass. Despite the real life stats and percentages that are taken out of context. because like I said, they don't get the same strategy from defenders and its not a secret KD is the best pure shooter in the NBA. Alongside Dirk.

at least i hope that is how it ends up..just my 2 cents..i just dont think if im wide open in the game i should even potentially miss more shots than bass because of stats taken out of context when im playing as Kevin durant.

        Injury prone?

And you are basing this off of what? Since 2004-05 he practically played every possible game (give or take 4-10 a season). Only in the 06-07 season he missed a lot of games.

Exactly, no way in hell is Bass a better midrange shooter than KD.. He is just always open for his looks.. Same reason Steve Novak should not be the best 3 point shooter.. Use some common sense people! SMH

If ball handling is a attribute than AI should get 99

You clearly don't know how ratings work here. And please, stop with that casual argument of "he only hits mid range shots when he is open", I'm sick of that. Do you have any stat to prove that?

First two random videos of Bass, how come I see him making mid range shots with a guy in front of him?

lol wait till the game comes out and see which of the 2 is better then tell me I "clearly don't understand how stats work"

You're right though, Bass can shoot so much better midrange than KD, Kobe, Dirk, etc.. And wow you found two YouTube videos, that must automatically make you right huh lol

I would take bigs like Dirk, Bosh, David West, Aldridge wayyyy before I would ever take a guy like Bass.. Not only can they hit those shots, they hit them while putting up big numbers and while being one of the primary scoring options.. Not by being the 5th or 6th option.. C'mon dude

Ok so I decided to actually watch your videos to humor myself and you must be joking? The first video is mostly dunks.. He hits 3 or 4 OPEN shots and 1 maybe 2 contested? The commentators even actually say he is shooting "open shots" on every replay, literally every shot they show and talk about him being OPEN

And the second video is all dunks and free throws.. There is only like 3 or 4 shots total in the whole thing and only 1 was contested??..

You just successfully hurt your own argument and helped mine lol

I'm not sure what the emotion attribute does, so maybe they could give some people 99 emotion. Like Metta World Peace. He's very emotional.

There is no way Kevin Love rebounds better than Dwight Howard.
