Actually, Paker is a much better one-on-one defender, while Nash is a slightly better team defender (due in part to his ability to take charges). Nash is a better passer and shooter, but Parker is equal or better in every other aspect. Unfortunately, Parker being a below average three-point shooter will always lead to a less than stellar overall. Nash doesn't play enough defense or play well enough without the ball, an underrated aspect of Parker's game, for me to take him over Tony.

The same thing Phil Jackson did for Kobe with Artest/World Peace and Ariza, yet Kobe is still lauded as an elite defender. Parker isn't elite, especially when there are few at the PG spot, but he is a quality defender when his effort is their. The only person that torched him all last season badly was Derrick Rose, while he played all other PGs well without a quality back-up.

I'm not one to get into debates about Overalls, as my philosophy is, get all the individual ratings right and whatever the Overall ends up being, so be it. With that being said though, if all the individual ratings are on point, IMO Tony Parker should be rated 2 or 3 points higher than Nash.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.
Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.Comment

Advanced stats would suggest you have no clue what you are talking about. Seeing Granger get cooked by the best player in the NBA doesnt make him an inept defender. He is actually one of the better on ball defenders in the NBA.Comment

It's crazy to see someone call Granger a bad defender. It's like ever since his floor game developed his defense has become maaad underrated.2K teams : Rockets,Thunder

Nash is better than Parker in every area of offense than Parker outside of finishing at the rim. Parker is a better on ball defender but thats not really saying much since its Nash. If you have something to counter this argument feel free. Just dont come back without some facts or statistical analysis in your argument.Comment

Kobe hasn't been an All Defensive player in almost 3 seasons. He's getting by just on reputation now.Comment

How is this a typical Laker fan reply when any Suns fan would argue the same. Tony Parker was in the MVP race b/c the Spurs were racking up wins. Thats how the MVP works. Nash is better than Parker in every area of offense outside of finishing at the rim. Its that simple. If you want to debate the facts then lets do that but arguing your feelings and taking shots at what team a person roots for takes away from the real debate.Comment

I don't feel like everyone even deserves a skill . Nash could get dimer and floor general but ratings should still be the main thing that determines how good someone is . For example ... Raja bell is a good on-ball defender but not of the caliber of a Andre Iggy . So therefore u give Iggy the lockdown defender and don't give it to bell . Simply because all raja needs to play defense would be his regular defensive rating .Comment

1- Nash is to high, if he plays very well for a period of time during the season will 2k boost his overall to 90? imagine that Nash, kobe, Howard all in 90's ratingseveryone will suck off the Lakers online
2- Granger- Danny G ain't no scrub player a 84 seems just about right for him
3- Faried -76 fair enough he was one of the better/impressive rookies out the 2011-2012 draft class (Faried, Irving, Shumpert, Leonard, Rubio, Kemba, Klay Thompson, Brooks, all deserve fair ratings they had good seasons as rookies.
