It's not insane to think a player who has been a sidekick on most of his championships, watched his team blow a 3-1 lead in the playoffs as well as having some of the worst shooting percentages & performances in playoff history, not top 5.

In no order:

Magic, MJ, Duncan, Shaq, Kareem>>>>Kobe

Quite possibly some of the dumbest points I've ever heard anyone make in a Jordan vs Kobe debate. Seriously.

Sidekick? Check Kobe's averages in the playoffs. Particularly 2001. He's the greatest "sidekick" ever. Shaq may have won the Finals MVPs but Kobe was just as dominant especially in the rounds leading up to the Finals.

Blew a 3-1 lead. Yeah, and what's your point exactly? Shame on Kobe for not leading a seventh seeded team full of absolute scrubs over the stacked Suns...

And the shooting percentage tactic is the typical box score reader's main attack. But if you want to read box scores, a better stat to use would be the true shooting percentage.

Oh well. Just funny to me that people STILL use the sidekick line. Even after the guy wins back to back championships...

Jordan lost in the playoffs but never in the finals
he was also always the best player on his team
despite what ppl say Kobe is now where near as clutch as Jordan in pivotal games
Kobes bball iq isn't as high as MJ's I've seen him blow many playoff games with his hero ball mentality

Kobe more clutch than Jordan all day everyday.
Kobes Bball IQ is better than MJ'S.
IMO Kobe will go down as the GOAT

Hey, back then the Western Conference was weaker. If Detroit was in the West, then Jordan would have lost in the Finals, lol. That's such a weak argument. In '08 Boston was clearly the best team in the NBA, that's not Kobe's fault. Would it have made you feel better if LAL played Boston in the WCF instead? It's no different than when LA breezed through NJ, Ind, and Philly. You don't control what conference the best teams are in. Sometimes you meet them in the 2nd or 3rd rounds, sometimes you meet them in the Finals.

I never grew up watching Jordan. But Kobe is my Jordan of this decade. This debate always bring Older people vs Young people. Lets just wait till kobe retire to rank. Even though Kobe stole Jordan swagg.

Dwayne wade got injured, Miami heat sucked big time, kobe was just as important to the la wining those 3 championships than shaq was... people just need to face that and respect the mans game! Mark Jackson needs to hop off Kobe's dick. Kobe has more total points. He has played longer! MJ won his last ring at 35 and he was STILL the MAIN MAN! Kobe would only have two rings if it wasn't for Shaq. And don't comeback at me with MJ would only have blah blah blah without Pippen. Just no! Pippen doesn't have 6 without MJ. MJ was THE man EVERY time. Kobe wasn't. End of story.

Who the hell was comparing their passing abilities? How many times did you see Kobe pass the ball to an open teammate for a good, quality last shot? I can't remember.

Shaq had aged quite a bit by the time he played with Wade. In 2006 Wade took over and Shaq even admitted it was Wade's team then. In the early 2000's it was Shaq's team in L.A. Not Kobe's.

Jordan is clearly better than Bryant and this is a Laker fan talking.

Those Laker teams were just as much Kobe's team as Shaq's though...people just ignore that because Shaq dominated all those scrub big men in the NBA Finals to get the MVPs. Kobe played huge roles in all of those playoff runs as well.
