Re: NBA 2K13 Video - Developer Insight #4: MyCareer
This insight was great! Really loving all the new stuff that they've added. If gameplay is as good as it is in quick play and association is then this mode is going to be awesome!
I really hope that the Summer League and the D League, most importantly, are in the game again. Just having the rookie showcase and then immediately being in the NBA is a bit too easy. I'd love to be able to fight to get into the NBA and defend my right to be there. If you don't play good you should be demoted to the d league. Would just make the game that more challenging. What we know so far about NBA 2K14 - FAQ/QA:

The gameplay last year really frustrated me at times. Team AI being the main culprit. So I'm glad to hear they spent so much time on improving that aspect of it.Comment

Re: NBA 2K13 Video - Developer Insight #4: MyCareer
Yup, all you saw was it's too much of a hassle to go through the Draft Combine and Summer League, and people were complaining about getting sent to the D-League with a sub-60 rating, like they were supposed to get a spot on an NBA roster because they were a 1st round pick.
I think most people can agree that Kwame was rated sub-60. In his rookie year, Brown averaged 4.5 points and 3.5 rebounds per game.
I understand both sides of this "debate" ... some people enjoy the harder road, and others do not. Some people enjoy going through the entire thing once, but on their 3rd time through, it can become very tedious.
To expect every player to be like Shannon Brown or Matt Barnes is as unrealistic as to expect every player to be like Kobe and demand a certain team on draft day and to be put immediately in the rotation ...
The ultimate solution would be to grant both extremes, as others have suggested at the beginning where you start ... maybe one day the devs will be able to figure a way of doing so. I just wish posters here would stop suggesting others are unrealistic for wanting it their way, when both ways are valid.Comment

Re: NBA 2K13 Video - Developer Insight #4: MyCareer
I have a way 2k can appeal to both sides, sim and casual:
We should choose résumés:
Top Pick
Top 5
Lottery
Mid to late 1st Round
2nd Round
Undrafted
Each résumé would have age, class, college or euro stats, strengths and weaknesses, NBA comparisons, personality, etc.
Next:
Hire Agent
Buy apartment (not a fan, but with the new stuff, can’t see why not)
Hire Trainer- Workout in preparation for Draft
Then (all in accurate order):
Portsmouth- is the 64 senior draft prospects, looking to improve draft stock. PIT is an 8-team, 12-game tournament held over a four-day period. April 11th to April 14th. Jimmy Butler, Landry Fields, and Jeremy Lin are some alum.
(Résumé, seniors 2nd round and undrafted)
NBA Draft Combine- in reality it’s the interviews, measurements, and athletic testing. The combine is drill based, there are no scrimmages. June 6th to 8th in Chicago.
(Résumé Top 60 best prospects, both international and college)
Euro Camp- Three day camp, internationals only, top prospect going through measurements, drills, daily scrimmages, and daily cumulative all star games.
(Euros)
Pre draft workouts- Every prospect with a shot at the NBA workouts for teams with interest. Doing various drills assigned. Coaching staff, management, and scouts are all there.
(Every Résumé)
All these events really exist, unlike the showcase thing.
Summer League- Not optional, unless injury.
(Every Résumé)
D-League- If you get assigned, you go.
(Every Résumé)
Training camp
(Every Résumé)
*Top picks choose to participate in the combine. Users who have no interest, you'd get measured at the combine, but your agent would say the my player (you) will only participate in team workouts. Just like real top picks and lotteries do.Catch me on that #SimNation #SimHangOut Friday's @ 10:00 pm est https://www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...N7yxMiElOpMl_BComment

It has happened in the past and will happen again. Let us look at Kwame Brown... The Washington Wizards decided to use their first overall pick on him. ...
I think most people can agree that Kwame was rated sub-60. In his rookie year, Brown averaged 4.5 points and 3.5 rebounds per game.

In regards to the Kwame Brown statement, the NBDL was formed the same season that Kwame was drafted so chances are a team that used that high of a draft pick on a player would send him to play in an at the time unproven league were slim to none.
You can look at Hasheem Thabeet, who was the #2 pick in the '09 draft, that even before his injury was playing poorly, getting sent down to the D-League in hopes that he would progress better there, the league at that time had gained a history of helping the development of players. Unfortunately, Thabeet hasn't been able to progress the way teams he has played for would like.
The way it stands now with the expansion of the D-League and it's growing number of head coaches and assistant coaches that have been in and around the NBA and pro basketball with numerous years of experience, I can see teams utilizing the D-League more for players they were high on when the drafted them that have underperformed or had trouble with their transition to the NBA.Say "No" to railroaded MC modes.Comment

If there are any sneakerheads here, did anybody notice the colorway on the Retro IV's Jordan was wearing when Ronnie was dribbling past him?
They look spot on and ALOT better than past 2K's. That shot there got me really excited to see this year Jordan's.
