I know the ratings take into consideration the players OVERALL game, but if guys like Gasol, Iggy, and so on are around 87 and higher than Dirk...what kind of rating will he get? I know his rating is always a lil lower compared to "stat standards" bc of his lack of rebounding, defense, and athleticism....but no way he should be in the mid/low 80's if that's the case. Last year was a bad year for him, but his #'s increased a good amount post allstar break and during the playoffs.....

Nash is overrated, 84 in NBA 2K12 then 87 in 2K13.
Just wonder why ? Not improving at 38, average season numbers ....

There's no way Howard should be rated higher than Durant overall. He's a free throw liability with limited range and post moves. Sure he's athletic, but Durant is on another level of basketball player.

As for Wade not being a first-option star anymore, people need to stop drinking the cool-aid! He's only second option because he's playing with LeBron. On almost any other team, he would be first and he'd put up huge numbers. There are only so many numbers to put up when you're playing with LeBron, as he gets the points, rebounds and assists. The fact that the Heat won it all last year should prove Wade is still elite and should be rewarded in his overall rating.

I also feel that some of the overall ratings are a bit inflated, which wouldn't be a big deal unless you compare them to legends. Then, it seems to devalue the abilities of some of the game's all-time greats.

KD, Bron, Kobe, D Howard, Westbrook, CP3, D Rose, and ill even throw Rondo are all better than d wade is. He is still an good and give you some great performance once a week, but top 3 please.

Just to humor you though. Guess how many of the players you listed had a better PER than D Wade last season? Two

Paul and Lebron. Wade playing second fiddle was more productive than KD, Howard, Kobe, Rondo, D Rose (including his MVP season, Wade's PER last year was still higher lol), and Westbrick while playing injured.

Yes, which is why Melo should be much lower than a 92. However, Durant actually hustles, rebounds, and plays better defense than he is given credit for. That, coupled with an offensive game and shot that is off the charts, should be more than enough to be rated higher than Dwight Howard, who is coming off a forgettable year and a back injury.

They are being too generous with the ratings, making it seem a lot of players are in the same tier of stardom

Russ is definitely good enough for a 90+. He never gets injured, is the most athletic point guard in the history of the league..with rose if you wanna add that.. is a great rebounder for his position, and is unguardable when his shot is falling. Plays on both sides of the ball too.

Russ dropped 43 in the finals with only 3 freethrows and no 3 pointers. If he actually got love from the refs like wade or bron he would have dropped 50 on one of the best defenses in the league...in the finals..on their floor.
