The Czars' NBA 2K videos were the best NBA 2K videos available anywhere. It's a real shame if we won't see any more. The man knows his basketball and it was always an informative and entertaining viewing experience.

It's not about the fact about showing the game off in videos, cause I'm still going to purchase 2K games regardless. Also there is plenty videos of the game out, I'm just concerned about the Da_Czars videos.

Czars videos are very informative, it's a teaching tool and just flat out entertaining. The sim community has grown to support and look forward to Czar's videos. One of the posters made a post above about how the Czar is straight up and tells the truth about flaws in the game regarding to the sim aspect in his videos. I thought that was good point, but then again there is some footage out so if there was a flaw worth keeping as a "secret" by 2K we would of seen by now(and we have seen some flaws).

I don't think anyone should ever believe the game won't have flaws. But it's clear that it doesn't have enough flaws to warrant a claim that they are hiding something. That's all I'm saying. I'd bet he's getting an early copy and will knock out some videos as soon as he can, IF he's still down to do them.

#Amen This! Czar's video taught me so much.

Why would big companies not like what Czar was doing for the sim community? Isn't 2K simulation basketball? Czar explains/teaches everything 2K oddly and simply refuses to show us every year.

Hopefully Czar has free time after release to put out something for us, it would be greatly appreciated. Synergy Sports, Da_Czar's videos, Momentous trailers and insights usually get me hyped up for the new 2K release just isn't the same this year.

You do know I meant sites like IGN, Gamespot, companies that make alot of money getting people to go to their site by offering exclusives, first reviews, first screen shot, first trailers.

Czar gave visual evidence of the differences/improvements between 2K11 & 12 and you still have people making these ridiculous statements inferring they were lied to or something silly of that nature. I have to say I'm glad he's not doing them because there are too many in this audience that don't appreciate them or the work that goes into producing them.

Oddly enough, i just searched youtube for some new Czar vids the other day, only to come here and find this thread. After (unfortunately) not finding any for 2k13, the same thought occurred to me. Maybe he does feel a little underappreciated. I personally hope that's not the case, and that he either doesn't have an early copy, or just hasn't gotten around to it yet.

Unfortunately I'm starting to see the same tendencies from 2k that I have seen from EA. You can chalk it up to people wanting exclusive access, but where are those exclusive access videos?

The truth of the matter is the notion of sales numbers is once again poisoning another studio. It's like these people didn't learn from their past success. Make a great game? Break your own sales records. Try to cut corners? Hide glaring issues? Keep the community in the dark in hopes they will buy it on faith? Lose sales and reputation.

It sunk the NBA live series. Madden will eventually sink if they don't stop hiding things from their consumers. It might take 10 years, but it will happen.

2k, don't do this. You guys made an incredible game in 2k11 and then promptly quit doing what made that game so great. As a consumer, I'd much rather know about issues I'm getting with the game prior to release, than find out about it the hard way after. In short, I'll still buy the game if you're upfront and honest. If you hide things from me, well you got my money once, and that will be the last time.

I'm not the only one who feels this way.

Gameplay wise, we weren't lied to. We were told a couple fibs about OA though. We were told in the online insight we would have full control as commissioners, when in reality we had minimalistic control. Hell it was far less control than we were used to from 2k

2K is really starting to piss me off with their attitude towards consumers. They act like their GOD and we are not the ones keeping them employed! Well guess what 2K, this is America which = capitalism which = you guys could be done in no time once more competition comes along. All we want is some czar vids to get us ready for the game and you guys wanna act like GOD and ditch him for IGN of all people who does not have one employee that ever stepped foot on a bball court. These guys seem to forget we keep them employed and are getting way too cocky these days. You already only give us a 1 qtr demo......now you can't even give us videos?

Most overreact to anything that looks off whether its a weird animation, generic accessory or someone doesnt like how Chris Paul's face looks. The majority of the feedback is negative. Those videos have never been proven to generate sales.

- What has been proven to generate sales are demos and sizzle reels. Casual fans get excited about all the highlights in sizzle trailers and buy the games. The demo gives hardcore fans the opportunity to test drive the game before buying it.

- If you are concerned about 2k hiding glaring issues...wait a week or more before buying the game. Read the impressions threads and see if there are any major gameplay issues or glitches. The fact is pretty much all of you couldnt do that. You have to buy the game release day because you cant control yourselves. That's why your complaining about the lack of videos holds no merit. You are still going to buy the game on release day no matter what. If you were really concerned about 2k "hiding glaring issues" or "acting like God", you would speak with your wallet. But you wont and thats why 2k ignores you.

In perspective, NBA2k's main competitor is still waaaay worse in the "acting like god" category than 2k is. Having guys like ld2k come around and talk trash with us is a huge luxury most companies don't extend.

I also was non-specific about my preference regarding videos. I actually don't need more videos. I need more transparency. Don't hide things from the game, in short. Case in point, completely avoiding the my crew questions from last year. Completely hiding association details this year. No, I don't buy the "we just ran out of time" argument. If you'd like to address why I should, I'd be happy to see any rebuttal to that.

Second, don't tell me what I will and won't do. You don't know what drives me to buy a game or when. I realize you deal with a certain stereotype of person here, but I am not that, and I'd appreciate it if instead of dismissing my points outright, you'd address them. Assuming I'm just a whiny person complaining because I'm bored the game isn't here yet is wrong. I'd never do that to you.

Lastly, have you ever worked in sales regarding software? Do you know for a fact those things are proven to deliver sales? The counter argument of course is nba elite 11 had sizzle reels and hype and a demo. None of those things mattered. Because it boils down to one thing and one thing only. If you want to sell your game, you need to make it of good to outstanding quality, you need to make people aware it is of good to outstanding quality, and you need to not hide things that may not be so good. The quality of a game always comes first before any marketing gimmick. But what we've seen from EA and is my point from my previous post, is that EA has put marketing gimmicks ahead of their game and it has caused the quality of their product to suffer. And the consumer has paid for it.

First, you are acting as if 2k was always transparent. They werent. Every year, there are things that they respond to and things they dont. They are a gaming company. Their goal is to sell games. They arent going to waste precious time needed to market the game before release to talk about the things their game DOESNT have. I'm actually shocked they even talked about Crew this early because all it did was create a day of posts about the lack of Crew and negative responses about Crew not being in the game. That doesnt help sell the game.

Second, you do fall into that "whiny" stereotype. Why? Because you were whining about the lack of exclusive videos and creating theories that because 2k has had sales success, they are now "hiding" things from the public. My point is there is no hiding. The game comes out in 12 days and then its out there. If there are online issues, you will find out in the first week. Significant bugs? Within the first week. Missing features? You will find out within the first day (maybe earlier if people get advance copies). My point is if you think 2k is "hiding" things, why buy the game day 1.

Lastly, I have worked in sales and marketing with a software company. That experience PLUS the multiple conversations I've had with game developers and marketing teams (NBA 2k's team in particular) lets me know what works when it comes to sports games marketing. Your Elite example is a horrible one. Elite failed because of a horrible demo. If the response wasnt so horrible, you would be able to walk into Gamestop right now and buy a copy of Elite 11. If EA was able to hide most of those bugs found in the demo, they wouldve released the game. That wouldntve been the first time EA released a poor quality game and had it sell well (see NBA Live 06 on the 360).

Regarding your "quality comes before marketing" that has nothing to do with the point of this thread (which is to complain about the lack of videos from the Czar) or your original point (complaining about the lack of exclusive access videos). The fact is you have no ****ing idea whether 2k13 is a "quality game" or not because you havent played it. You also have no idea if 2k is hiding anything because you havent played or read anyone's impressions of the game. Its pure speculation and thats all.
