Really? Who cares about this ish! I play 2K ball for the depth Assoc once had... Where's the info on that? What about Create-A-Player?
It seems 2K is going for quantity rather than quality in regards to updating and improving modes which have been neglected the past two or so years....we held several meetings to discuss the future of the franchise. After going through those meetings, it became very clear that the vision I had for the game was different from where the leadership wanted to take it. I parted ways with EA shortly after...Comment

The people posting in here whining about Association sound incredibly similar to Crew heads. Who cares about this ish? I do. I don't give two ish's about Association...but you won't find me joining Association discussions whining about other features.
Even though it hasn't been directly discussed, we know a lot more improvements to Association than you guys are acting like:
• Total Sim Control
• Today Association
• New CBA implementation
• Improved trade logic
• Tons of game-wide gameplay and presentation improvements
What is it that 2K has to tell you, before they can talk about a brand new game mode that many people have been waiting for for years, without you whining about no Association news?Comment

So is Association the 'new' Crew?

Your opinion on Association doesn't really count after "I don't give two ish's about Association...".
Association was basically half of what made 2K ball stand out! For some, it is/was what 2K is/was about. This is THE main reason some of us buy (bought) the game. It's the same reason online players have been complaining about online in almost every thread, whether it's related or not.
We're "whining" because it needs to be heard. Don't like it? Don't read it! It isn't aimed directly at people like you. Think about it. Unless you're a bum with 8 hours to spare during the day, there really isn't that much time to play every mode completely before the release of their next iteration.
With nearly every new mode announced, 2K has added an arcady element to it. Take this mode as an example. Buying packages is something you'd expect from Call of Duty and not from a sports title that's trying to emulate real life. These packages should be earned individually as your career progresses. Not bought fresh off a supermarket shelf.
Improved Trade Logic has been around (rather announced numerous times) since before the release of 2K11, and it's not as improved as some of you non Assoc players like to think. NBA Today is now lagging behind Maddens Twitter feed in terms of league wide immersion and is the same as 2K11 as it is in 2K12. CBA was going to be in there because it's there in real life. Also "game-wide gameplay..." blah blah blah, is not something that's limited only to Assoc, so that's half a point. And what does Total Sim Control even mean? Total Sim Control? What? You want to hear something funny in regards to "Total Sim Control"? Guitar Hero controls for (you guessed it) their new ASW mode.
Why did they get rid of the old controls? Have you seen this?

I understand that it may be a bit annoying to see these types of posts, but if we don't say anything, nothing will be changed. Just ask the online players. Imagine if 2K doesn't deliver in the online department? You'll have a new meaning for the word "whining" and they'll be in EVERY thread!Last edited by eye guy; 09-22-2012, 04:50 PM....we held several meetings to discuss the future of the franchise. I'm sorry but again I feel to see what this mode adds to the game. Seems like a roundabout way to be able to edit rosters the way you like so both current teams and classic teams mixed and just play association / playoffs / season with them right? Some people have lives, i'm not going to just sit here and check everyday for a package to get a certain player. Fail
On top of that you can change the signature skills on the guys on your team so even if someone else had the same players, both teams wouldn't be the exact same. And not unrealistic changes like putting Deadeye on Dwight Howard, from what i saw in the video you can only offer a guy a certain signature skill if his rating is already at a high enough level so Dwight won't be able to have Dead Eye or Ankle Breaker.
The price of the players also will rise and fall depending how that player plays in real life so you can get Durant cheaper after he's had a bad 5 game stretch than you would if he's tearing it up.
There's a lot more that goes into it than just picking guys and playing games.Comment

you people whining about Association sound like babies. "I WANT THIS NOW WAH WAH WAH!"
2k is releasing info on their schedule, not by what you want.
This mode they announced is a great mode for them. You think nobody cares about it because you don't care about it but a lot of people will use this.Comment

Now, in "Road To The Playoffs" do you actually PLAY in the playoffs and compete for a championship? Like, you get up to that number one seed and start as a #1 seed in an tournament against online players?
Because THAT would be amazing.
It would be like Ultimate Team AND FIFA's H2H seasons combined.Comment

This mode could have been great. 2K is taking what Ultimate Team does for Madden but with some of their own unique twists. But why would anyone in 2K dev team think it was a good idea not to allow you to play your friends with your team. Basically that one omission kills this mode for me. In today's gaming all online modes should have way to play your friends. Imagine a shooting game not allowing you to party up with friends, having to play ranked random games all the time, or being stuck in league with strangers? Why can't they get these things right. Always a glaring ommison.Comment
