My thoughts on 2k13 demo.


Cons:

No sweat coming off players, no player introductions prior to game like in earier 2k versions, crowd animations and reactions are still whackadoo, ghetto looking menus.

Overall a major overhaul...kudos 2K!

hey i dont know if this has been mentioned but fake pass is done by double tapping A now, but the animation can sometimes be weird.

Seeing and hearing some folks say ghetto menu is getting on my nerves. It's like a hidden way of being racist or something to me. What is so ghetto about the menu or jay-z in the demo? When I play hockey or baseball games, I don't make comments towards the choice for that game.

My thoughts on 2k13 demo.

Pros

Improved graphics, animations, better passing, authentic player signature skills, and love the presentation before game of downtown Miami. The defense is AMAZING as are some of the blocks I made with Lebron...very hard if you time them correctly.

You realize this is a demo right? Menu art and player intros wont be in Demos.

Sorry - have to disagree.

Bosh started his vertical block animation and while he was gather for the block, he was pushed out the way. He feet didn't move from their spots on purpose, they moved because they are part of the block animation and Durant's animation 'pushed' him out of the way.

It's petty and I don't think people should get hung up on these gripes. It's a video game and I think some people lose sight of that. But Bosh definitely was moved without intention.

That said, I still counted 4 steps, 2 backwards, and 2 for a gather to jump...

I know that scenario could've played out more than one way, which is why I said I understood where he was coming from, but momentum was definitely not on Bosh's side

Please tell me that players biting on pump fakes on their own is because of the defensive assist strenght slider. It's horrible getting owned when you didn't do anything wrong.

Loving the demo so far, they are taking a huge step forward with this years game.

I'm sure they will fix the few bugs the game has at release with a patch/update.

So far the only problems I've found are:

1) Missed wide-open dunks and alley-oops happen way too frequently.

2) With the games speed being slowed a bit, the fake pass & pump fake animations are too fast making it look awkward and unrealistic.

3) No foul is called when players are pushed out of bounds.

4) The turbo animation where the player throws ball in front of him still dribbles off players feet without a kick-ball violation being called. Resulting in too many unnecessary turnovers.

5) Pressing LT+A to do a bounce pass does not always result in a bounce pass.

6) Pressing X+A to do a alley-oop does not always result in an alley-oop, instead having the player do an unnecessary fake pass, pass, or pump fake.

Thats all I really have for now, the game has yet to be released so there are bugs no doubt, but im sure with a few tweaks post-release all these minor issues will be resolved. Great year for 2K.

I have to agree about the ghetto music and stat overlays,etc. I half expect some dude with gold teeth to pop up on the screen and start pimp talking with some gold bling on. Just doesn't fit this game IMO. Some of the music is the same type thing

Just watched some XBOX 360 gameplay of the demo (I'm a PS3 user). All I'm worried about is the the possibility of people overusing the self alley-opp and turning a the match into a streetball game.

Yea that too, but that's just an easy tweak to fix. Hopefully 2K reads this forum so they could tone down how frequent self-alley oops successfully happen.

I like the demo and I like the controls; however, I feel as though it may take some time to master them.

Does anyone know if there will be an option to revert back to last year's controls in the full version?
