Good lord these new controls are killing me. Never played an NBA game with dribble stick controls like this. I feel like I'm 3 years old all over again haha, it's gonna take a while for me to get as good at 2K13 as I was at 2K12.

Im not really feeling the graphics right now. They seem to have taken a step backwards. But I guess you gotta give to get (more/smoother animations). Also the menu's and graphic overlays aren't that great either.

But gameplay wise I'm loving what I'm seeing. No complaints so far after about 6 qtrs of play. Shot blocking is crazy, had a drive for a layup that got blocked from behind off the rim. that was nice to see. The momentum seems real good. Had a couple of instances were my momentum took me out of bounds.

Ai and off ball movement seem real good. I leave Thabo to try and double Westbrook and Thabo finds his way to the rim for the easy 2.

Next game, I absolutely demolished!

I started to see Ibaka and Perkins were VERY abusive and uppity on defense, so I fed Bosh a lot and took Perkins on the dribble. Couldn't catch up to the post moves.

CPU kept using the P&R and ran through Westbrook and Durant. I learned to go under their P&R every time so they had to pass out to their star, which I wanted. I know I can take Durant one on one.

Once I showed my defensive prowess, my offense flourished. It was very nice.

I agree with that. Either that this build is old or it really took a step back graphically. Player faces, skin textures, aliasing on player models. It really doesn't look that good.

Gameplay wise yeah I definately see a great potential. AI is convincing aswell.

Crowd is just the same, still very noisy in the first quarter. Maybe it's playoff atmosphere though.

Menus are terrible. I got no feel for the music. It doesn't really sound like 2K music to me.

Love the gameplay, love the graphics, but this music and gold menu look has got to go.

I got not issue's with Jay Z, but this game presentation wise in the demo has turned into a street ball in the ghetto type feel at times.

Should have used this music and gold look for like a 1 vs 1, 3 vs 3 street mode IMO.

Very excited for the game, but not excited about listening to this music while i play it. The gold really confuses me. 2k usually knocks it out of the park with its stat and overlay screens,etc.....major step back this year.

gameplay=9.5
graphics=9
presentation(with assumed 2k12 like commentary,etc)=7

I'd drop jay Z or tell him to step out the way.

Also, if I am just being picky here, I really don't like how all 2k's players photo's and body's(overlays) are so jaggy. The gameplay graphically is so clean, no jagggies at all on 360, yet the photo's and overlays with photos are horrible low quality. Also, I like the outside stadium shot, but it is very low resolution and would have looked better if they hadn't throw the artifacts static filter plugin over it. The game looks good enough they didn't need to "mask" the real stadium outside footage from the game.

Don't get me wrong, I'll be buying this game day 1.

Man, just to say one more time....contact animations. damn. I dont mean to keep going on about it, but its not even fair to call it an animation...its just so life like. It's not pre-scripted at all.

If you push or bump someone a certain way they are going to fall that way and they dynamically contort their body and shot to get it off. This is the most realistic contact animation I've ever seen.

And STRENGTH actually means something! Lebron is barrelling people over and battling through crowds of 2 or 3 without getting bumped away. I LOVE this demo!!!

EDIT - OMG one handed full court shot in complete rhythm! Haha I feel like such a kid. I'm getting so excited about everything! This game makes 2K12 look like NBA ELITE

I suck to bad at the new controls - played about 10 games and still mess it up! Hard to teach and old dog new tricks!

I'm absolutely in love with the shot modifying engine and the blocks!

Great news that we can play with both teams. I suppose since I have not read it that us 2K camera guys are stuck with the awful (IMO but I respect everyone who enjoys it) broadcast camera?
