Re: NBA 2K13 Advanced Controls
Okay I just have two more questions. I remember around E3 footage time, you post on here that you were unhappy with isomotion. Are you happy with the new dribbling system?
My second question is could you possibly give us a tip on using the new control stick dribbling? So we can have something to practice during in the demo.
Thank you for your time and the hard work you've put in over the years.
As for tips... My advice for those who are still struggling with the controls would be to give it time. It took most people in the office several days, if not longer, to get comfortable with the changes. But at some point it will click and become second nature. Moving Isomotion to the right stick is a necessary step in bringing the floor game of NBA2K to the next level. It will be more apparent when you see the next evolution of the Control Stick in 14.
The other thing I'll add is that there's a rhythm to the moves and how they chain together. It's important to learn them and to use the moves in the proper contexts. Spazzing on the right stick won't get you very far, at least not in the higher difficulty levels or against competent human opponents. It's also important to coordinate where you're trying to go with the left stick before and after right stick moves. That's something that's not really in the manual or in Training Camp. You just kind of have to learn it through trial and error. Also, lay off turbo until you're ready to attack with your drive. Too much turbo will make the dribbler very unwieldy.Comment

For a first year effort... pretty happy with the right stick iso. But it will take another year to get the full design implemented. So ask me again next year.

Re: NBA 2K13 Advanced Controls
takes about 9-10 games to the get the hang, after that it was easy, plus I dont even know if they have dribble move ratings but it seems like it and they matter more this year. If you played the game last year you know what I'm talking about. Lebrons behind the back is kinda average. DWades stepback is great (ok now get up) etc.Last edited by HighRiser32; 09-26-2012, 04:25 AM.Comment

Re: NBA 2K13 Advanced Controls
CAn we switch the control stick and shot stick? I'd rather hold of L2 and use the right stick to crossoever. 3 years of using RS to do layups isn't gonna go away easy lolComment

Imo they are as rare as back to back 3 pointers (whatever percentage you would apply to that is about fair). Not completely alien but enough to raise an eye brow when they happen.Comment

DAMN, my whole message didn't post due to lost connection on this damn train. Lol.
Either way, LOVE the dribble stick fusion, M-Dub! Had weird mental marriages of Live 10 when playing that threw me off when trying to use shot stick.as well as TCP, at first, so I went to face button shooting and passing which help my anxieties and wack gameplay. Lol. However, subconsciously, I eased back to shot stick lil by lil.
Either way, I think I love this game, NOW. Took too long for me to feel this way about an NBA2K game. Kudos, Mike and 2K team!Just cuz you pour syrup on ish....Comment

It's amazing how quickly the LT + stick combo has become second nature...especially in situations like finishing drives, cuts, catch and shoots...this game is going to take a toll on my left index finger though..lol
As far as dribbling, the first thing I had to realize is though the dribbling is on he right stick now, this is NOT NBA Live lol. There is a entirely different direction 2k took it and I'm beginning to understand the way moves chain together. I know I'm going to have to relearn this when I get the retail and boost the difficulty up.Comment

Like in other 2k games laying off the turbo has more success getting passed the guy than pressing it.Comment

Re: NBA 2K13 Advanced Controls
The fact that players bite on pumpfakes without me doing anything is that due to the defensive assist strenght slider beeing set by default at 50?Comment
