LIKE BLUES ROCKER said once u figure out how the left and the right stick coincide with one another MANNNN 2K is brillant for implementing the right stick with the left just dont touch L2 when dribbling TODAY was a good day i was playing my nephew we use to go to war on 2k12 lol, Now we starting a new era in 2k13 mind u this is DAY 5 since the game been release i play on SIMULATION , He won the first game ,by the 2nd game i really figured out how they work i was duin everything i wanted to do with the controls im still learning now WON the 2nd game, 3rd game a road game i won that game, the 4th game DREAM TEAM MATCH UP vs. 2012 team we play on HALL OF FAME since 2k11 i had the 92 team i BLEEEEEEW him out the water ran that team out the gym these controls r amazing and i still have a long way to go i stay in training camp very helpful INFOFollow Big Kev @BigKev_np on Twitter

Re: NBA 2K13 Advanced Controls
Here's a very specific question I have. On an overhead lunge it says "tap RS away from player facing" The instructions in the training camp say move RS away from player quickly and release. Is is a flick motion or do I need to "click" the RS? That seems to work great going right to left but with overhead I flick away and the animation goes *towards* the opponent, whereas when I watch the computer the player jumps away from the opponent.

Re: NBA 2K13 Advanced Controls
i try to find it but it looks like it has been taken out. i dont understand why they like changing stuff that are perfect they way they are. doubling teaming is stupid now, half the time they dont even do it, the other half the wrong person double teams. i want to pick the double teamer like in 2k12...Comment

Still possible though but it forces you to play offball and it's not as easy.
I would add drop step dunks to the Can't do anymore's list.Last edited by Vni; 10-06-2012, 10:48 PM.Comment

In the post up press the hopstep button towards the point or vertical towards the paint, hold the Turbo button, and flick the R-stick up.Comment

Re: NBA 2K13 Advanced Controls
For people struggling with the controls, here is my advice. When I first got the game all I did was go directly into practice mode with Kobe, pull up the controls list from this site on my computer, and learn EVERYTHING. Break it down into sections (dribbling, shooting, layups etc) and once you master each section move onto the next one. After about 2 days I have learned just about everything and feel pretty comfortable with the controls.
You really need to just calm down, take a day or two to learn them, and then go back to your games. You can ALWAYS play your Association or Exhibition modes, they will not move I promise, however if you decide not to learn the new controls you are basically not getting the full potential out of the game.
There are a bunch of little things to be learned also like when to break out of a size up and stuff. It was fun for me to learn all the little things and now I cant wait to apply them in game.
BTW DEFINITELY change the dribble stick to absolute, it is much easier to execute things.Comment

For those who like absolute, are y'all playin on the 2k camera? I play on broadcast & I'm already used to camera relative and I perform moves just fine. I'll try absolute and see if I like it

Re: NBA 2K13 Advanced Controls
I tryed absolute but I prefer relative. I mean it's the way I play sports game like PES, FIFA and NBA 2K games since like 15 years. Absolute doesn't make sense to my brain.
One thing, is that possible that double shimmys are now based on tendencies just like bank shots? I seem to do them randomly when I'am only tryeing to do simple shimmy.Comment
