As mainly an offline player who mostly prefers 2K11 over 12, I just want a glitch free association. The freezing issues in game, at the all star break, and even the beginning of an association were too much. I had to revamp entire rosters to get them to work, and even when I did I would get this terrible record glitch where half of the teams records would reset at the all star break and the other half would have too many games played. I love 11's association. It's got plenty of customization. I would just like a glitch free mode and maybe some better draft classes.

Same as the bold. Glitch free. One thing that bugged me out about the 2K12 Association was the Assists Glitch. My team would always have like 67.6 assists. I don't care if they leave Association the way it is, I still find it very fun to play. Just tune it and get rid of the glitches! As mainly an offline player who mostly prefers 2K11 over 12, I just want a glitch free association. Re: Why is 2k continuing to ignore Association Mode?
I know some members of OS had some input in how 2k13 was formed, my question was anybody chosen to represent for Association mode? And if not why, its not like improvement wasn't needed. Just seems like there is a disconnect between 2k & consumers.Comment

This also happens to me - the assists stats glitch. A whopping 60+ assists per game. Additional voice over for stats should also help.Same as the bold. Glitch free. Off-topic though, it would be pretty cool to have a budding "rivalry" with other teams through the seasons/years discussed by the commentators. Also can be applied to MyPlayer to have a rival rookie or someone close to your age turns into your rival.Comment

Re: Why is 2k continuing to ignore Association Mode?
Because off line association players aren't sexy pop star youtube sensations. Thus 2k isn't going to let someone with no subscriber base come to 2k.
The problem is systemic and will likely never get fixed.
The good news is I get the feeling these guys actually play their own game (unlike madden) and when something is broken or bad they will likely do their best to fix it (unlike madden).
Every year in recent memory I have hoped for madden to patch out their buggy mess of a game and never do but I remember hoping for a good 2k patch and have been satisfied.
it's not all doom and gloom for association players, it's just a tepid "okay...I guess" for now.
If we really want improvements to association we actually have to stop buying the game in high enough numbers that force 2k to change their design emphasis for their next development cycle.
I don't see that happening.Comment

Re: Why is 2k continuing to ignore Association Mode?
I disagree. No one would draw the conclusion that sales are hurt "because of bad Association". The problem goes to what you said: there is no visible community member that cares to make Association his/her focus. If there was just ONE trusted community member that most people felt represents their views on the mode, I'd bet that he'd get pulled into VC for a talk. Just like Smoove and his My Player passion. You may not like the dude, but he's CLEARLY a fan of the mode and everyone knows he plays a LOT of it. Is there anyone like that for Association mode?
Let it be known that I agree that it feels like Association is being put on the back burner. Considering everything that has been added this year, it shouldn't be a surprise that something gets overshadowed. However, I don't assume it to mean that dudes don't care about it. We KNOW that's not true if you even half pay attention to SimBaller.Comment

Re: Why is 2k continuing to ignore Association Mode?
Hey LD2k, Big NBA fan here....
I havent bought NBA 2k games since Dreamcast, not sure why, just had other games to keep me busy... Mostly Madden and Fifa, but also NHL, CoD, Elder Scrolls in past years...
I hopped on this board out of boredom from not having a game to play(Madden is getting old, lacking off field features)... and saw how all the news/features videos and write ups you and Ronnie keep updating us with, and the constant staying in touch with the community, and seeing how satisfied everybody is with the demo/game at launch party...
Because of this, I decided to download the demo, and am now very excited as I have ever been for a video game... Ended up making a pre-order and am going to midnight release.
Just thought Id let you know, Thank you for your hard work and a hopefully excellent game.

Re: Why is 2k continuing to ignore Association Mode?
If nothing has been changed to association mode I will not buy this game. A matter a fact I will be selling my PS3 with Madden 13 tomorrow to a friend and give up on sports gaming for along time to come.
I have been playing season modes in football and bball since tecmo super bowl. I don't care about all the other modes. I play sim sport games to play a season.Comment

I agree they dont need to add anything but fix the stuff that is already available like AI, chemistry, sim stats to just to name a few. Editable Dleague would also be appreciated. The way DLeague is represented in the game is annoying and better off not included.I'm just curious and don't feel like reading everyone else's post -- what things do you think they need to add to association mode? I'm a big association guy and I think they don't need to add much of anything -- I rather for them to fix what they have before venturing into something else that will probably need to be tweaked to perfection.
The only true thing they could think about adding is just little things for the immersion factor.
I also dont get the My player vs Association thing. Both modes use the same logic which has been funky for years.
Its more than likely the guys who enjoy My Player doesnt notice the things (which guys here at OS do, hence at the many gripe threads about My Player) the Association players do.

I have nothing against smoove. I don't see how my likes and dislikes pertain to that at all. Going to need clarification on that point.I disagree. Also: of course you disagree. But it actually doesn't matter whether you agree or not because that is how this whole thing works. If there was a dedicated association guy that 2k could go to, that would be great, but that's still not going to be enough to change their already established design focus for 2k14.
For all we know, they might be focusing on Association next year anyway. But what we do know for sure is their design goals for their engineers and designers are already set and once that happens, they are unlikely to change. Hence my point, that only sales will move for an immediate response. Which is perfectly reasonable based on previous experience in the industry, and actually just observing how software studios actually conduct business.Comment
