Re: Why is 2k continuing to ignore Association Mode?
I dont know how, but with those simple words you so happen to cause a riot of the butterflies on my stomach ... you certainly know how to bring a
on me.
THANKS in advance for your highly appreciated help and understanding of our needs ... your interactions with us here say more about you (as a person and as dedicated employee) and of 2k (as a videogame company by and for the people) than any game review ... gonna go ahead and say it: 2k13 is indeed the result of some of our requests and therefor, a piece of art.Comment

Re: Why is 2k continuing to ignore Association Mode?
2K are only responding to the priorities of its consumers. Just like the citizens vote for the policies that are implemented in a nation, the consumer base's clear priorities are My Player and Legends and 2K have responded to that.
How many YouTube videos have you seen of people doing an association, and in those videos was the person playing offline or online? That should tell you what 2K's priorities are.
How many videos do you get complaining about socks, accessories and all the other stuff? Not much, so they aren't a big priority for 2K. Shoe fetishists do have a bigger voice than them, and for that they have been rewarded with the great influx of shoes in 2K11 and 2K12, and now in 2K13, the shoe creator.
Famous 2K guys have made their name because of My Player videos, NOT because of playing an association or online league, or criticising bugs in the game (even if they did that earlier).
It's too bad but you'll just have to face it, offline association is a niche mode played by a very small minority of the consumer base. The game only represents what is wanted by the average consumer.Originally posted by Dogslax41Most people that are asking for a simulation game don’t really want a simulation game because its too hard.Comment

Re: Why is 2k continuing to ignore Association Mode?
Hoping for good news!
Not looking for any new features (if we get some, great!) just want to see an acknowledgement of the bugs/glitches and possible fixes now or post-patch. Just want to enjoy an offline association mode, bug/glitch free!
Thanks LD2K!Comment

Re: Why is 2k continuing to ignore Association Mode?
There is no doubt Myplayer is a popular mode but using the amount of YouTube videos is a very silly test of popularity. I mean in my player its from the perspective of the the player so you see him interacting with the media and advancing his career and getting endorsements so yeah they'd be fun to see on YouTube but watching some guy resign Steve Novak or sim games while his super team goes 82-0 would not make the sexist youtube video lol.2K are only responding to the priorities of its consumers. Don't get me wrong myplayer is awesome but not everyone is into the RPG and grinding aspects of the game and they just wanna play as their fav teams and that's why Association online and offline are both still popular modes.
Hell just last year 2K said Online Association was one of the most requested features fans told them they wanted so they added it.Comment

If you really want it to be special put the missing classic players back in the game."Aim for the bushes"Comment

Re: Why is 2k continuing to ignore Association Mode?
Not knocking on you personally here but this perspective has problems. Even more so if it is in fact how 2K gauges consumer demands. As a business owner you're number one priority is to seek out the rawest most true statistics to analyze possible. Videos from extreme perspectives should be a little further down the list. Real data is where its at. But I agree with your point that they are responding to hype especially if that hype has followers which in my opinion is taking real data for granted.2K are only responding to the priorities of its consumers. The problem here as I understand it is that 2K is only really analyzing data farmed from those who use their product online, that makes sense after all how can they track what you do offline in the privacy of your own home.
To expand on that point most association users are offline users. Online Association just wasn't that deep of a mode and certainly not as well rounded as the offline version. Very similar to what Madden went through with their first online Franchise. Now that Madden has offered a fully featured online franchise, that in many ways is actually better than offline, those numbers have shot way up. The data has shifted I'm certain.
A full integration to online could solve a lot of data issues but I know consumers aren't really hot on being forced online ala the direction Madden seems to be taking.
Another odd perspective could be...
Are we at all shocked that people who are into pumping themselves up publicly through videos also enjoy a mode that is centered around the individual rather than a collective league. Then on the flip side a mode that is predicated on managing or micromanaging an entire league is dominated by offline players who don't partake in self promotion via a video game.
I would hope at some point 2K will find a way to look beyond skewed online data and address those who play offline. I'm certain that is a large consumer chunk.
A guy who plays four or five games online with his buddy across the country isn't a real representation of what that consumer might do with that product offline.PS4 - CoastalRyan

Re: Why is 2k continuing to ignore Association Mode?
I always thought that besides MyPlayer everyone else was playing Association.
What else is there to do lol?
In 2K11 I only played MyPlayer, a bit of association.
In 2K12 MyPlayer was unplayable so I only played association.Comment

Re: Why is 2k continuing to ignore Association Mode?
I know right lol? I mean Myplayer is locked in the from the perspective one player so its a completely different gameplay experience while Assoication (Online and Off) is the only other structured mode where you can play as the WHOLE team.
I think the biggest thing in all this is perhaps these other offline Association players play offline for a reason.
Maybe they just don't desire to interact with people online or play video games when life allows the time thus they don't post youtube hype videos they don't come to forums like this one they just get the game in get lost in their own NBA world....Last edited by kjjnesb; 09-28-2012, 03:37 PM.Comment

Re: Why is 2k continuing to ignore Association Mode?
Some folk just play online.
Quickplay guys and whatnot. They just buy the game to play against others mostly.
Other than that yeah.Comment
