That is a big diff.. I m 100% shot stick so this is a big transition mentally. Not for the double tap pull ups, those were done with the modifier any way so I am accustomed to modifying the right stick... But not for spot shooting or dunking. As far as the dribble stick there are some moves I am comfortable with and others I am clueless like the movie. But that's ok bc that sounds like real basketball to me. Chris Paul didn't wake up w handles he had to put work in and now so do we. Yay

Re: What are your feelings towards the Control Stick?
For the people that don't like it, is it mainly shooting that you don't like about the control stick? In previous 2k's did you use the shot button or the shot stick?
I'm trying to see if it makes a difference. Me I always used the X or Square for jumpshots, I only use the shot stick when I'm in the post or for finishes, so the new controls are fine with me now. I think that might be the reason why some are more comfortable with the new controls than others, because of their jumpshot preference.
It doesn't feel as responsive and even though crossovers are simpler with the control stick I don't like sacrificing the shot stick for it.
So basically 2k just needs to fix the modifier and shot stick and I will grow to love the control stick.Comment

Re: What are your feelings towards the Control Stick?
I love it. For the people saying it's too easy, Mike Wang confirmed the demo is on default, pro.
I'm sure once we all play on All-Star, Sim like he recommended, it won't be as easy as you guys think.
We finally have full control of our ball player and the moves they can do on the court. I can't believe people are complaining the way they are.Comment

Re: What are your feelings towards the Control Stick?
For the guys that only shoot with the shot stick. have you guys tried holding down the modifier and using the Left stick for your crossovers? The left stick has it's own set of moves, try it and see if it's better for you.ARE YOU LOOKING FOR YOUTUBE CHANNELS DEDICATED TO THE SIM COMMUNITY CLICK THE LINKS BELOW, AND SUBSCRIBE FOR ALL SIM CONTENT.

I feel like pressing LT along with right stick to jump shoot is mimicking a real 2 hand shooting motion. Its so funny to admit that. But my jump shot releases have been spot on and I always feel my shot has a chance to go in.

Re: What are your feelings towards the Control Stick?
I currently put I don't like it - but that could change. The camera angle 'Broadcast' view makes NBA 2K13 demo unplayable for me. It is so wack, and awkward and it gives me a mental lapse. It is a weird feeling to describe. (Defense is another story ...)
I will wait till the retail version and with my beloved 2K Camera angle to see if I like it. I feel way too shaky.Comment

Re: What are your feelings towards the Control Stick?
I can't answer this. Poll question should be "what are your feelings about the default control stick?" I love the new right stick dribbling, but I hate it when having to use the L2 for shooting. I don't like the default control setup but have a very strong feeling I will love it with L2 + R stick for dribbling opening the shot stick back up without a modifier. So, I love it and hate it all at the same time.Basketball Playbooks

Re: What are your feelings towards the Control Stick?
The thing I noticed is people are getting too into the control stick. Like they'll turn a 5 on 5 full court basketball game, into a 1v1 halfcourt possession. Just pass the ball around and use the moves when you have to, I think it works/feels just fine, and I'll get even more used to it when I play on the 2K cam.I don't wanna be Jordan, I don't wanna be Bird or Isiah, I don't wanna be any of those guys.
I want to look in the mirror and say I did it my way.

Re: What are your feelings towards the Control Stick?
I'm getting a good feel for the controls now, I was the type of player that would use the Shot Stick when I drove to the basket and the Button only on jumpers. Of course you are going to have those players that try to cross you every play like NBA Street but with the improvements to defense doesn't seem it will be a problem. Once I'm able to change the camera angle I think I will like it even more.Comment

Re: What are your feelings towards the Control Stick?
I like the control stick, but it's a steep learning curve after mastering the old controls. All I want to know is..are the size up moves still in the game? They were great setups in 2K12. Has this been addressed/answered already?
EDIT - There are no more player specific size up moves. Question was just answered.Last edited by CallMeDrop; 09-26-2012, 03:34 PM.Comment
