I'm not a fan of having to hold LT to shoot if I can reverse it than I'll love it because I don't mind the right stick controls it's pretty cool but as I was playing the demo there were many times I was trying to shoot or pump fake and I would always forget to hold LT...I know it's something to get used to but I'm not really a fan of it. I also have followed very little news of 2K this year, last year sports games disappointed me so much I just decided to wait till close to the release to start following up every single info about each game(madden/fifa/NBA) It wasn't until 2 days ago I found out the controls changed.

Re: What are your feelings towards the Control Stick?
I love it is just it takes some getting used to using the modifier to shoot. Cant begin to tell u how many layups I missed out on or shot clock violations ive had. I use X to jumpshoot mainly but I just wanted to give the new system a full go for the demo. Probably gonna switch the modifier for crossovers once retail releases. It’s easier to do the right thing, than to explain why you didn’t.Comment

Re: What are your feelings towards the Control Stick?
Only problem I have is when I get a OREB under the rim. "im used to just pushing the shot stick up for a layup/dunk. Forgetting to use LT... Other than that I love the controls.Comment

Re: What are your feelings towards the Control Stick?
Wish there were more options in the poll, like "Meh. Not sure I like it until I get better."
My problem with the new shot stick is that the timing doesn't seem very intuitive and I get sent into animations that feel hard to break out of and don't let me launch when I want to. I'm sure some part of it is just learning curve but it definitely doesn't feel 1 to 1 nor particularly predictable.
I'll do a sizeup or hesitation, see an opening, throw the LS stick in that direction and my guy flys off in a different direction and by the time he recovers the defense has too. There's also a jerky feel to the animations when you don't time them right that makes you feel less in control than isomotion did. I do like that you can specifically throw the ball between your legs or your back without having to move in a certain direction, but I wish the system retained the smoothness, breakability, and chainability of 2K12.
I bet things will look and feel better once I perfect the timing but a robust system should still look and feel good even when your timing is less than perfect and you're throwing the stick around. You should simply be less effective than someone who's mastered it.Comment

Re: What are your feelings towards the Control Stick?
For the people that don't like it, is it mainly shooting that you don't like about the control stick? In previous 2k's did you use the shot button or the shot stick?
I'm trying to see if it makes a difference. Me I always used the X or Square for jumpshots, I only use the shot stick when I'm in the post or for finishes, so the new controls are fine with me now. I think that might be the reason why some are more comfortable with the new controls than others, because of their jumpshot preference.
My problem now is that I still tend to mash LT during moves with the LS and occasionally pump fake or put an errant shot up when I hit the RS.Comment

Once in a while I'll get ahead if myself, pass to a wide open teammate behind the 3 point line, and press LT without the RS lol. But I live dumping down to a big man under the basket and mashing down on the LT,RT and ^ for the flush.

Re: What are your feelings towards the Control Stick?
I currently put I don't like it - but that could change. The camera angle 'Broadcast' view makes NBA 2K13 demo unplayable for me. It is so wack, and awkward and it gives me a mental lapse. It is a weird feeling to describe. (Defense is another story ...)
I will wait till the retail version and with my beloved 2K Camera angle to see if I like it. I feel way too shaky.Comment

I like it. I just don't like pressing the modifier for every shot (but this can be taken care of in the retail version).

My biggest problem.. I try to tap the stick over thinking the player will simply cross over and my guy suddenly try's to make some crazy move towards the basket to beat his man.. When all I wanted was for him to switch hands..
It doesn't feel accurate to how're you move the stick.. Every way I move it always ends up with my man bumping into the defender trying to beat him off the dribble.. Even when I'm trying to move it back and create space..
Still forced into way to many animations just like last yearComment

Re: What are your feelings towards the Control Stick?
Cannot stand it. Have played the demo to death and I absolutely hate the new controls. That's not to say I can't use them, it's simplistic enough, but having two sticks for dribbling/movement is just crazy in my eyes. Why on earth tamper with the way things were? To be dramatic, this is almost a deal breaker for me.-----------------------------------------
