Re: NBA 2K13 Impressions Thread
Very true. It seems like every year 2k can improve every part of the game, but they usually always forget about CAP. Do the faces at least look better this year?Hieroglyphics 3rd Eye Vision '98- You never knewComment

Re: NBA 2k13 Official Impressions Thread
The box itself is just a normal xbox 360 case that snaps when it clicks.
I'm playing on All-Star, simulation sliders 12 min quarters and no adjustments to any sliders.
I'll say one thing, the CPU loves to pass it inside, and I feel like my defenders in general arent aware enough of their position relative to the guy their guarding when he's in the paint. Its too early to call it cheesy, but the CPU is constantly looking to pass it inside, whether it be by a lead type of pass or an oop attempt. Gotta play more games to see if this is a trend or just a one game anomaly due to my bad defense.
Since that initial play where Deng made a play on Brewer, I havent seen that much interior contact to be honest.
For whoever it was that was asking to upload a roster using a USB, I'm not sure how I would even go about that. I dont even have a flash stick I dont think.
Getting ready to play another game, preferably with two low/mid tier teams. Any suggestions on matchup?

For 2k14, 2k should make a feature similar to gameface so we could have realistic looking CAPS instead of alien looking ones.Hieroglyphics 3rd Eye Vision '98- You never knewComment

Re: NBA 2k13 Official Impressions Thread
Dont think I will be getting much (read: any) sleep tonight. This game is good. Very damn good. 2k fans are in for a real treat. Right out of the box, it plays a very complete game of ball on all-star, simulation. Stats look spot on. The only thing that I've noticed after two games that definitely need to be tweaked are fouls. Not seeing enough. in the two games Ive played, neither side has had more than 15 fouls. This last game I only allowed 7 offensive boards, so I wont even say that that needs adjusting yet.
Some notes on the last game I played, Blazers (CPU) @ Suns (me).
-Goran Dragic is very fun to play with. His craftiness in real-life comes through in this game as well, he's a slick ball handler and can weave his way to the cup to score. You can tell hes not the best athlete out there, but he is very skilled.
-The double high-screen is so fun to execute. You can really see which way the defense is leaning and attacking with the control stick off the side the defense is weakest on is nice. Once you get the hang of the controls, you are going to feel like you have a ton of moves at your disposal to pick apart the D.
-Plays in general still have the same 2k feel you are used to, but like everything else in this game, they are soooo much smoother to run this year. There are a lot of subtle contact animations occuring on the court at all times and they really help plays seem more organic and functional.
-Havent seen any shot clock cheese through 2 games
-Fatigue seems to be well done.
-When you body up the offensive player and crowd him with a stronger player, you can feel it. I really think thats the theme of what I'm seeing so far with my playtime, you can "feel" the weight and physics of the players for the most part, particularly on the perimeter. Positioning, angles and momentum play more of a factor than ever before if you want to be successful on either side of the ball.
I think I'm going to mess around with association or my player for a bit. I'm also thinking about live streaming, if enough people are interested. Just have to figure out the best way to do it as I'm not that savvy when it comes to that type of stuff.
With this gone as well as the off ball suction supposidly gone, basically all my gripes from 2k12 are gone. I am getting real antsy to get this game. Thank god this weekend has football to hold me over.
Just want to say thank you to the guys that keep posting in here with their thoughts on the game.Comment

Re: NBA 2K13 Impressions Thread
CAP faces are still terrible. Facial hair is still terrible and doesnt look like hair, but more like somebody drew on your character with a colored pencil. The whole system is terrible to be honest. Not gonna sugar coat it at all.Comment

Re: NBA 2K13 Impressions Thread
Every year it seems 2k spends no time make the CAP system better. They can improve every single part of the game but every year since 2k10, they have left the CAP system untouched and i think it got a little worse since 2k10 to 2k12.Hieroglyphics 3rd Eye Vision '98- You never knewComment

Did 2k add any legends to the classic teams they already have?Hieroglyphics 3rd Eye Vision '98- You never knewComment

Re: NBA 2K13 Impressions Thread
Legends got the short end of the stick this year. Many missing players (Eric Snow, Chris Webber, Dr. J, Kareem is what i can think about at the top of my head) Teams are the same as last year. Can't remember if the Cavs (with Mark Price) were in 2k12. I know they were in 2k11. But they are in. Didn't see any new legends.Comment
