Pretty sure they did away with that rule, didn't they?

There is definitely continuation still. And it is still a rule.

I just meant that as the defender, you can continue to play defense after a continuation file occurs.

I actually had a double whistle the other day as I fouled the offensive player, and he continued on his drive and I kept pursuing him tried to block his shot and goal tended the shot.

Oh ok thanks for clarifying, that sounds great.

I hope that statement is accurate.

Because as others have mentioned, that's still not the case. At least not in the demo.

It was for me at MSG. It was a back and forth game and the crowd was going crazy whenever I hit a shot.

But if you look at my thread about rule changes you'll see the game didn't end well. Lol.

Durant popping his mouth guard in and out all the time would have been a neat touch.

In the demo, DW forced a tough drive to the hoop and was held up and fouled by Perk, I came weak side with Ibaka and DESTROYED the ball into the third or fourth row.

I've been hoping for a situation where a wing player has the ball, a foul gets called off ball, the wing player shoots after the whistle, the big man under the hoop goaltends the shot.

Erm...no it isn't. If the whistle has already been blown and the player hasn't gone into a shooting motion yet, it's an inbound in the NBA, not 2 free throws like in 2K12.

This is the way I understand it as well. Its a recent change, last 3 or 4 years or so.

I'll put it like this, Continuation from the 90's ain't the same as continuation nowdays.

                        Right?

Well 2k12 results that foul in free throws because it counts the hop step as being in the act of shooting , which is usually the case, but it's purely a judgement call in the real NBA, between that and what you're arguing.

                            Let's get back on topic.

I, too, love the hand gestures the ball handler makes and the bumping animations when cutting or screening players.

Just a quick clarification on this note, continuation in the NBA tends to be longer than we see at other levels. High school, for instance, tends to necessitate a player be in the true act of shooting. The NBA tends to just need a player to be in the process of making a move that'll soon lead to a shooting motion.

However, in 2K12 (and other 2K's), continuation was an issue because there were certain offensive animations that'd draw a foul out near the free throw line. And in these 2K's, a foul whistle would freeze every player on the court except for the offensive player, who'd often continue his animation into a wide open lane for a wide-open layup. Except, since the game registered him as being fouled, he'd often miss the wide open righty layup. As such, the continuation sometimes seemed long and weird in 2K because everyone froze and the offensive player would miss open layups. If teams can really play after the whistle in 2K13, that would be a hugely appreciated addition.

The person who tips the pass gets credited for the steal instead of the one who gets a hold of the rock afterward. FINALLY 2K!
