Been playing My Career off and on since the game came out and thought I'd chime in here.
Created myself (taller version) as a 3pt Specialist small forward. Got drafted by the Rockets (17th I think). I'm 34 games in and have been in the starting lineup for about half of those games.
Playing with a default roster with KMart still on the team for some reason, but we're still playing well despite not having The Beard (24-10). Martin is a beast for me so I'm not really fretting it either (avg. close to 30 and is really efficient and consistent). Lin is a solid PG although he can getting a little overaggressive and is prone to some high TO games. Patterson and Asik are solid as well. Both clean up on the boards and finish pretty well, with Patterson able step out and hit the J which helps the spacing for us. Both are pretty bad in the post though.
Myself, I'm not really a large part of our offense. I'm very much a glue guy. I make use of the few plays that are called for me. Usually they are simple pin downs and staggers and the occasional iso (which doesn't really makes sense considering my skillset). I like to trail the play since my speed isn't really up to par of most of the SF's and look for spot up opportunities if the fail to matchup in transition. I rarely call for the ball or break the play to get my own which probably is the main reason my PPG pales in comparison to most of you guys on here but I'm fine playing that way. I just try to play solid D, grab some boards and make the right pass.
On the season I'm averaging around 9.5 pts, 5.5reb, 3ast and 1to per game in about 34 mpg.
Also, My Career is offline so I only use the SP I earn within the mode which is slowing my development a bit but I think it's a bit more realistic that way.
There is still some wonky things happening in this mode. Plays break too often, CPU does some weird things on offense, and the sub logic is terrible but I'm still having fun with it.
