Re: Official NBA 2K13 MyCareer thread

50 A+ is really easy to earn as a center.
As a Hall Of Fame step, it should be harder to have OR it should be more (just for PF/C maybe, because it's harder for other positions).

I'm not that good of a player, and after 53 games I had the 50 A+.
Even when I do a not-so-good game (in my last, I was like 6 points 3 rebounds after 2 quarter and a half, letting my opponent score and take rebounds over me), I was full A+.

It's quite a detail, but still.
WHen I was PG/SG, it was so hard to have it. A basket was nothing and you were badly sanctionned for each little mistake.

I too run a PG on the Raptors, and the CPU calls plays just fine here.
I have alby's roster file ... maybe i messed up with something ... if it works for you, i will check again...

two questions here (i started my career after loading alb's roster)

      1. if I change the roster file and load my career, the playbook changes wont have any effect until i restart mycareer right?

      2. I just found out that i cannot make any playbook changes... lets say i change 76ers sliders a bit, remove plays from their playbook... the system does not save it at all... even when settings/user profile/roster etc is saved afterwards.. when i restart nba2k13, the playbook settings are back to "default"

Once you start a MyCareer, the roster, playbooks and abilities are "copied" from the original roster file and made into a MyCareer file. If you use Leftos' roster tool (or REDitor once released) you can open either the original roster file or the MyCareer file and even edit them.

The changes made to the original .ros file will not be reflected in the MyCareer file. In order to change playbooks in your MyCareer file, you need to use REDitor or Leftos' roster editor tool. Also, some plays within each playbook are broken or break real easily. For an example of a complicated play that breaks at times, watch Da_Czar's 4 part tutorial he just made.

To change sliders you will need Lefto's tool (the same one used to enable playvision).

I only have older versions of Alby's rosters, so you will want to check his roster threads to see if there are any known errors with playbooks on later versions.

Re: Official NBA 2K13 MyCareer thread

I have to say playing as a PG for the Rockets is really fun. I reset my PG and made a new one (being Pass First is so bleh because I can't score at all) and made an all around PG that is 6' 2" I believe. I got drafted by the Rockets(first pick of theirs) and I thought it was going to be tough with Lin/Harden taking all the play time, but was I wrong.

My PG plays two different roles depending on the personal, if Lin is the PG and I'm at SG, I play more offensively stepping back and making a couple of threes. If I'm at point and Harden is SG, I play more team oriented, passing the ball around and trying for boards and play decently defensively. What was hilarious was I was moved to PF when playing the Hawks and I was matched up with Al Horford, which was hilarious seeing my little 6' 2" guy in the post defending Horford. Somehow I contested all his shots (he still made two of the three) but I tried my hardest to somehow stop him, because I'm decent in the post predicting when to jump for the shots in the post.

Re: Official NBA 2K13 MyCareer thread

I decided to make a post after reading everyone's stories. I'm a 6'3 athletic pg from Georgia Southern. Drafted 19th overall by Orlando. (was aiming for the hawks) my first three season my combined averages are 23.2 points, 5.9 rebounds, 9.4 ast, 3 steals and .4 blocks. So far I've won ROY, MVP once (Kevin Durant won the other two), NBA champion twice, finals MVP once (Afflalo took the other, not sure how), 3x all star, 3x 1st team all-NBA, 1st team all defense twice, league leader in steals twice, and league leader in assists once.

After three seasons I said goodbye to Orlando and signer with Sacramento with a 4year/74.48M dollar contract. With a player option of course. Haven't played a game yet but on paper we look vicious!
            Starting Lineup:
PG - Ivory Mathis (me) 99
            SG - Tyreke Evans 92
            SF - Dale Hill (a rookie) 79
            PF - TRob 84
            C - DeMarcus Cousins 94
With Marcus Thornton, Jason Thompson, and Jimmer coming off the bench.

Is there any way to request new teammates if your not losing? My team is floating between 4-6 in the west and I feel we need to make a move to put us over the top. But because we have a winning record the "I'm tired of losing" option is not available in the gm sit down screen.

In this situation, the GM will usually come to you in the month before the trade deadline, saying something to the effect that "we value you" and then he will ask for up to 5 recommendations.

Then in the off season, he should approach you once again about free agents and trade targets.

The "I'm tired of losing" option is one powerful incentive to go to or stay on a "losing team." Perhaps next year 2k will give such an option to the winning teams who as you put it: "need to make a move to put us over the top". That is missed this year isn't it?

I play every game in 8 mins and the simulated cpu ones are 12 mins. Very realistic to me.

Also does anybody know why isn't www.nba2k.com showing my career? I have paid for this game (PC) and I am successfully logging in every time (I get the NBA Today and stuff) but I can't find my career on the site... It's not that important, but I would like to see me in the site.

What will happen if I delete my profile in the site? Will I be able to create a new one?

I'm in my 2nd season, playing with the Knicks. So far so good. I've only played the key games plus a couple of other matches, team record is 13-6.

The simmed games really take a toll on my record, since I average at least 25+ points and around 9-10 rebounds per match when I actually play, but only 18 ppg and 7.9 rpg on simulations. Either way I'm still top 5 in scoring and rebounding for the league. I'm the top voted Center for the All-Star game, but even though the season is going by quick with decent results I'm feeling like playing more games so I can have a good shot at MVP.

Thanks, and yes that is definitely missed on this years addition. I have a good team, basic jazz but I was traded for mo Williams. Our starters are
                            Pg: me
                            Sg: bell
Sf: milsap (I edited him before starting to have sf as secondary position)
                            Pf: favors
                            C: Jefferson

We do well but against thunder and heat they have Durante and lebron at pf and favors can't guard them, I think milsap would have a better chance as his per d is better. And against the lakers Jefferson can't guard Howard again with all these no one can stop them, but what I want to do is get Jefferson traded for igudala. That way favors is our center and best rebounder to try and keep the Howard's and bynums off the off glass. And milsap will be pf again making it a little better to contain stretch 4's like lebron and Durante, then have igudala as a lock down defender on the peri miter for when those guys are at small forward and Kobe and such. Plus he'll give me someone else who can create his own shot late in the game when I'm getting double teamed alot. I also thought maybe Paul George for this as he is a pretty good wing defender that can score. Any thoughts on that idea? Or who else I should target when I do get asked? Hopefully it will be soon, I have 3 games left in January and feb 21 is trade deadline I believe.

Some go down to 10 mins but you shouldn't have a problem with it unless you try to drop 50 every game
