Though I can't source you I can verify this.

The PSN has a promotion of 8 games available at midnight through digi downloads. 2K13 is one of them.

Sony's comment was that SOME of the games MAY get a midnight release but nothing was confirmed

The official Day 1 site (first link) still says nothing about any of those games being available at midnight

Whoever really thinks a digital download is a better deal baffles me. DRM excluded, there are just so many other reasons to get it as a physical copy. Nothing pleases me more than ripping the game open and getting the disc out to put it in the tray. Why give that up for a "Launch now" button after a long, tedious download lol? I know most people won't care about that but I am weird

Because we live in 2012 and lugging around a disk is more tedious/more subject to a lost copy? Seriously, console users should consider themselves lucky though, we PC users got totally shafted with our digital download being delayed until October 16.

But it gave the impression that the games would be available at 12:01.

And OP, going 30 mins each way isn't nearly as bad as waiting hours for 6+ gigs to download through PSN and thus encouraging $ony to continue its terrible business practices that affect everyone who plays games, hardcore or casually.

I still prefer having a physical copy of my games. The only ones I download are the ones where no physical copy exists.

I still buy CD's too.

Where did you see that there is DRM for the digital copy? (link?)I have mine pre-ordered at Gamestop for the DLC but was thinking of the digital version so that it would always be quickly available.

Do you have to sign on to PSN one time to unlock it or is it a constant connection required? If that's the case then for get about it.

It almost feels like they're giving the console priority. I was looking forward to the PC version. But I have a feeling it's going to be treated like the bastard child.
