that's not their fault, but they could have aided the situation by not removing the ability to share exported teams on roster share. We could have put Webber back on the Kings and shared them to the world. Export team gave people endless posbilities and when they removed that after nearly a decade of offering it, is total BS and then some. Yes. People hvae a right to be mad.

Re: 2K taking too much away from the game??
I agree with the general view of some of the posts i am seeing but i don't see it as dire as others. Are some legends missing from last year? Yes. But the 00-01 Sixers were added and we can edit historic team rosters offline from the start this year. So with the ability to create or download "legends" i am playing with more complete historical teams than i was at this point last year. Not saying i wouldn't like Kareem, Dr J and Webber, just saying you do gain Iverson and its pretty easy to download and insert created guys.
The rookie complaint and roster complaint in some ways is the same thing. We know they'll update those and said when. Its not like they are taking them away.
The Autosave thing does bug me. You can save various rosters if you want to test. I have to admit i have no idea if you can save an association or not separately.
The hex editing complaint to me so hard to rip them for. Its not like it was a feature, it was a lucky bonus really. I love what those guys did with the changes but Sony customers didn't have it and they lived.
They added shoe creator which i don't care about but its not like they didn't add anything to the game and only took away. They added more custom music events. Added the Sixers like i mentioned earlier. Added the Dream Team and 2012 Olympic team. Changed the controls and whatever i missed.
Overall, i just do not see the sky is falling.Comment

Re: 2K taking too much away from the game??
Whats crazy after playing the game for a full day, I think my only 3 complaints about the game are the missing legends, still no online lobbies and turning off autosave. Now the autosave thing is crazy to me, fellas we need to start a petition or somehow get the devs attention to put autosave back in the game with the next patch, that one really blows my mind that we have no control over what gets saved.Comment

Re: 2K taking too much away from the game??
Most of the other stuff you listed isn't that big of a deal(legends, rookies, not a huge deal at all and has to do with licensing)
But ONLY autosave in association? Are you kidding me? I thought game developers learned by now that most people HATE being forced to autosave when they don't want to. I payed for the game, i should be able to save when i please.
So far the gameplay seems very solid, and i'm liking it so far. But THAT, is crap. Why would they do that? Come on, just think would ya?SLIDERS SUCKComment

Hell I could turn on trade override get Lebron Dwight CP3 and Melo run the league for yrs and let the VC flow freely in Association yet for what ever reason 2K saw fit to force Auto Save.Comment

Re: 2K taking too much away from the game??
EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.Comment

Re: 2K taking too much away from the game??
you can't edit their likenesses, even the generic guys on the historical teams. you have to remove them and use a created player that you placed in a free agency, I think. But you can't edit player likenesses which is lame from the start. I should be able to use a current guy an make him look like Webber, not just change his stats.
I am not against your comment, just glad i have the option to add "historicals" from the start and get the teams we do have.Gamertag and PSN Name: RomanCaesarComment

Or they could have just removed the whole historical team idea (or those teams with those guys). Guys like me might not have bought the game without them, but its not like they have competition for the regular NBA fan who buys the game. I guess i don't see removing three greats (while adding one) as the end of the world when before the last two years i was stuck with all decade teams that i didn't care about.

On the flip side, I find forcing gamers to use auto-save to be a complete and utter debacle. It's terribly frustrating and as others have said, it very much complicates a lot of the features and abilities that normally make video games great. Personally, it has me working around 2K13 as if I'm walking on egg shells. I'm on ultra-alert as to every step I take, knowing whatever I do might end up getting saved over something I didn't want saved over.
Furthermore, autosave in 2K has historically seemed to be terribly unstable. Is it not just a matter of time before each of us hit a point where we're disconnected during an autosave and our files corrupt, thus deleting everything we've built upon?
Thankfully, I think there are some effective steps that can be taken to help side step the auto-save issue, but I'd stop short of calling them solutions. It just feels as if we've lost a lot of the freedom usually associated with playing video games.Comment

Re: 2K taking too much away from the game??
Wait, we can't upload sliders anymore? So that entire part of the 2k community dedicated to making the game sim is now gone? Or am I reading wrongComment

Re: 2K taking too much away from the game??
1. Sign into your profile and boot the game.
2. At the Main Menu Disconnect fro Xbox Live.
3. Create your Offline Association. You will get a prompt about it Being Offline. This will make it so you DONT earn VC AT ALL while in this Association.
4. At this point the Auto Save Option is turned OFF in the association. (It cant be turned back on)
5. Also at this point you can sign back into Xbox Live. (This association will forever be an OFFLINE one that WILL NEVER earn you VC)Comment
