The amount of VC earned varies depending on which mode gamers are playing. For instance, on pro difficulty, for one MyCareer game where a player scores 25 points and earns a B grade (8 minute quarters), they'll garner around 150 VC. In a 9 minute quarter quick game (hour of gameplay), 450 VC is earned.

I think you're missing the point. You don't gEt jack squat for someone quitting on you in a online ranked game. Which is stupid.Comment

Re: Virtual Currency frustration
Yeah, i'm actually having a problem where i get no VC for playing association mode, which is weird because it was giving me vc for association games before. Then it just stopped for no reason.Comment

Re: Virtual Currency frustration
Mine never started. I've also noticed that if I play the same mode twice in a row I get nothing the second time. Almost like the game istrying to force someone to buy vc because it's so frustrating to earn.Comment

Re: Virtual Currency frustration
I made a post in another similar thread to this, thought it may be relevant here.
http://www.operationsports.com/forum...ints-2k13.html
This VC crap is ruining the franchise that I have been enjoying for over 10 years now since the original game on Dreamcast.
It is a shame that 2K can instantly fix a glitch that was discovered week 1 that allows players to get slightly less VC than they "should" be getting, but they put the game out with a broken MyCareer play calling system that was already working last year, making the mode unplayable for many people.
There is NO WAY that not one person in development and testing didn't realize that play calling wasn't working, yet they choose to fix a small glitch that allows a small amount of players to get more VC, but they can't fix a HUGE error in possibly the premier mode of the game, which many people, including me purchased the game for.
It has become apparant that with no more competition 2K is quickly shifting from the underdog that consistently puts out the better games over the sub par competition whose main goal is to squeeze as much money out of its fans rather than make good products (EA Sports), to becoming that themselves.
2K's answer to "The best way to earn VC points in 2K13" is to buy it with your real money! That is obvious. That is why they tied VC to every mode in the game, why they allow players to be purchased in MyTeam which goes against the purpose of the mode, why you have to pay for a headband in MyCareer, why it takes so long to earn VC in every game mode, and why they can fix a loophole to earning VC instantly, but can't fix the things that fans and customers who have paid for the game are asking for daily.
This is a big step towards the monopolization of aspects of the franchise that have never before been monetized and will shape the way the game goes in the future. If 2K can make money in the fashion they have started with NBA 2K13, they will continue to do this in the future, and ramp it up even more to the point where you have to spend more money on top of the $60 you paid to get the game just to enjoy the individual modes the way they have been enjoyed in previous years, which we are already seeing now.
The game has been out for only a few days now and I am already tired of it while I played 2K12 the whole year last year. MyCareer is useless to me because the play calling is broken, and every game in MyTeam is against players with Rose, Lebron, and Dwight Howard on their team who run around, jiggle the right stick, run in the pain, and chuck up crap that goes in because my team is filled with bums and the one semi decent player I earned from playing the mode the way it "should" be played.
The only reason I haven't traded in this game already is because I have been a loyal fan to the franchise from day 1 since it has been consistently been better than the competition and enjoyable to me, but that is no longer the case at this time, and although paying a few real dollars for VC may make the game more enjoyably, I REFUSE to do that since I should NEVER have to pay EXTRA money on top of the $60 I bought the game for just to enjoy the product I have now.Comment

Re: Virtual Currency frustration
Thanks, one thing i have actually found up in the 5th seed of the playoffs is most of the guys that paid for VC are trash, i get more scared of the guys with the same bad team as mine (no offense to any of the guys on my team cause i clearly couldnt play in the nba). Possibly because those are guys who actually took their time to learn and play the game. Buying VC seems to be HURTING some peoples game.
This is the basic steroid argument in sports like baseball. Many people don't really care of you do or don't use steroids, but you can't have some players using and some not using since the ones who aren't using are at a competitive disadvantage, and it is deplorable for 2K to say "hey you can choose to pay another $60 for VC to compete too"...NO... I just did that when I walked into the store and bought the game.
2K has really changed their tune the last few years from adding game modes, listening to customers, providing ridiculous value in their games... to removing game modes, focusing on the wrong things in the game, and releasing a game riddled with bugs/glitches.
What happened to the 2K from years ago? Now $$$ is their 100% focus... it use to not be like that and I've played this game since I bought a dreamcast on launch day. (I also remember NFL 2K5 being $20 brand new)

Re: Virtual Currency frustration
The only game I've been playing so far is blacktop... unbelievable.
They need to give you more VC in MyCareer else it is no fun at all. How can I upgrade a player with only 60VC after 10-20 mins of playing 1 game.
I wish L2DK (or Ronnie) would talk to us about this issue. I know L2DK is reading all of this but I'm sure 2K doesn't want anyone to talk about this or make any statement.Comment

Re: Virtual Currency frustration
The idea could've been great but it affects too much, realistic progression in my player is impossible, especially if you want to get skills. If it were something like attribute infused equipment, extra teams and tied to my team than cool. But tying it to progression, all levels of equipment (at an insane cost) as well as my team is ridiculous. If you play all the modes, VC is definitely spread really thin. I'm cool with having to work for MUT and progression, but the values are so thrown out of whack and unless your pay you have to decide with having an imrpoved player and looking generic or a sub-par player that has a piece of equipment or two, averaging 200 points a game (which without some of the higher grossing dynamic events tilts towards the upper spectrum) the power web sleeve would take at least 40 games of excellent performance, without improving your player once. Conversely the 8000 points could be spent to level your player close to +30 in midrange shooting, and in the +20 range in 3PT. Aside from looks the +2 bonus is redundant, especially at the cost.
At least reevaluate either the distribution or costs.Bulls|Bears|Cubs| Blackhawks|Huskies|Horned Frogs|

Re: Virtual Currency frustration
You get VC if you play association mode with plus 9 min quarters. Ive gotten 750 playing time vc every time. Just put the time in and the game will reward you. Play good clean games don't keep changing sliders during the game or what team you are on and you will be fine. I do not believe coach mode works to get the 750 vc. It took me awhile to finally discover it but now gettin vc is cake. I love the vc system because I can build my myplayer without having to play 60 some games and suck.. now he can be good at the beginning.. Im just gonna build vc till they patch it anyway. Cavs association here i come...!Comment

Re: Virtual Currency frustration
yeah you actually have to play it. You can't coach mode it during association at all. I think it's worth it. Just play 9 minute quarters and put tempo at 52. Im still perfecting my sliders and it will be perfect.Comment
