hopefully 2k will patch some of the issues. I am strictly an oniine player. I do enjoy playing a sim game but can cheese with the best of them if thats the game my opponent decides to play. Remember 2k12 was terrible during release and with a few patches and updates, it was more tolerable. I am sure 2k wil eventually fix these issues and make it a bit more sim.
I have played a bunch of rank quick matches, all the issues most online players are complaining about are legitimate complaints. The game is far too easy offensively at the moment. I am 47-5, so i have been winning the majority of my games. Not gonna take credit for being skillfull at the moment, its very easy to score, 3's go in often, COMP AI grabs a million off boards, long passes lead to dunks like 80% of the time, and very easy to score in the paint.
But i will admit, I have won alot of games because I am forced to be extra alert on defense, never taking a break, constantly switching and running to shooters because of the high success rate. So I try to look at it like this. Since offense is soooo over powering right now, take the time and really try and practice your D. I mean, really concentrate and look at all the players on the floor. Try to anticipate where your opponent wants to go. You won't always get stops and sometimes they will hit shots heavily contested. But when they patch things and percentages are more realistic, you will be tat much better on defense.
The most successful defensive stradegy at the moment is to really try and anticipate where the offense wants to go or pass and jump ahead of them. If you guess wrong you will probably pay cause any slight open space and they will hit shots now. But keep practicing, record means nothing, but after a while you will get really good on defense and when things get patched up, it would make defense seem alt easier and more effective.
We can't expect to counter everything and be great at the game already, its only been out for less than a week. I will continue to play and give it more time, regardless of small glitches/bugs and just practice and get better at defense.
